A British SVX?

Did you notice that it is a diesel? That's kind of interesting...

The engine is a v6 twin turbo diesel with loads of grunt. The design ethos appears to be GT rather than sports. It appears to be close to production-ready so could be interesting. (My mate is manager at the local Jag dealer so I could blag a test if it becomes a reality)

Sucide doors disappeared from cars for a reason. Why are they re-appearing?

Because the reason they got the name sucide has been fixed, they only open after you open the front door.

Question: What happens if the wind blows (or someone decided) to slam close the rear door while the front door is still closed (or in a closing position). The Honda Rep was there. So was one of the designers. He thought for a second and said it'll make a dent on the front door. But why would you want to do that? Accidents do happen. I guess it's good for the bodyshops though.

A friend of mine has an Element. He really digs it, but I don't really care for the car. Honda really cheapened the interior materials to bring the price down to the target buyer they were shooting for.

You know what just occured to me? Honda should have included a cheap sliding lock setup inside the lower door frame. If the front door is closed, the rear would bounce off a stop instead of the outer door panel instead. If I had an Element, every time I had people get in the thing I'd be worried somebody would close the doors in the wrong order. Sure, as an owner, you adapt your behavior to the car so you don't break the thing every day. But passengers (and kids are likely to beat the hell out of those front doors.

A note on the Honda Element crash test vs the CRV (which it is based).
The side impact test rated the CRV acceptable and the Element got a poor for side impact protection. I guess the suicide aspect hasn't completely gone away.

Go figure, though - there's no b-pillar and the opening is so tall.
