eg33 clutch question

I am using an eg33 in a manual transmission car project. What flywheel and clutch kit will work with the eg33? The bell housing and input shaft are both Subaru. I am being told to use the non turbo flywheel from late 90's to mid 2000's which with ACT is 600185.
Anybody know if this will work or have any other suggestion?
Thanks
Mike

Re: eg33 clutch question

What transmission are you using? That will make a large difference for pressure plate and clutch disk. Once you know which plate and disk then you can know which flywheel to use. All the flywheels from the EJ motors will work, 5MT and 6MT, however you have to match them to the clutch you are using. The disk and pressure plate are different between the 6MT, hydraulic push 5MT, hydraulic pull 5MT and cable 5MT. SO again, what tranny are you using?

Re: eg33 clutch question

The TA I am using is a Renault UN1 but I have adapted a subaru input shaft and the bell housing is subaru. I am being told to use a non turbo flywheel. The release bearing can only push so I can't use a pull type pressure plate. Clutch needs to 325 ft/lbs at the flywheel.
Thanks for the input.
Mike

Re: eg33 clutch question

I used everything from a stock 6MT. Stock 6MT clutch, slave, fork etc. Lightweight 6MT flywheel. Very nice to drive.

Re: eg33 clutch question

Spec makes a great clutch. You can use a turbo flywheel as long as it is push operation. That also means you can use a turbo push clutch... not positive of the year wrx trannies went to push but i think its 07. Just make sure all the pieces match. That includes the clutch fork. Hope this helps... btw i suggest a stage 2 clutch for smooth operation and great traction
