this tank was less than spectacular too. i think the low fuel light came on about 405 miles and started dropping fast. i use this car mostly for commuting and my drive is mostly highway. 30 miles uphill about 50 mph and 30 miles down hill at 80 mph.

A 400 fuel light under any condition is fantastic. We just traveled from SoCal to NorCal for a graduation, wife and I in Grand Cherokee. A son and daughter took the Claret, traveling a different route than we were, running with new low-rolling resistance TOYO VERSADO LX II 215/55/16 rubber, 35#. Son Jon said he was running 80-85, occasionally 90 [interstate 5 in California, after dark, last weekend]. The only stop was at the next exit to refuel, and an easy throttle to increase speed.

The gas light came on at 413, he gassed at 418. That NEVER happens on California gas, at any speed, in any of our cars, even running shorter diameter 225/50s. With the taller tires, mpg still calculated at 26.4, factored for tire circumference, a true 27 at speed on California gas

Daughter drove on return run, got 10-15 miles less at each quarter mark

here's a cut-and-paste from my mileage spreadseet:

15.990gal 30.932 mpg

so yes, it was over 30 mpg. shortly after i my 5mt conversion, i was averaging almost 30 mpg and had 4 tanks over 31. colorado premium fuel is 91 octane with 10% ethanol.

What mpg were you getting before the 5MT, or with other of your SVX, on the same runs?
With the 5MT, are you in neutral on any of the downhill side of the trip?
Any special tires, pressures, oils, etc.?
Obviously, you were driving for economy, and succeeded
