fretless
in my free non-svx time i play bass
i even went as far as deciding to 'build' my own so i took the first bass i bought and stripped it down to pieces i wanted to make the neck a fretless one so using a heat gun (?; idk name) i heated the fretboard of the old neck thus heating the glue holding it on, and then bassically just pried it off. i then took a piece of some extra bamboo flooring that we had lying around and glued that on the neck. after the glue was dried i routed off the edges so they were flush with the neck. then sanded continuously until the shape was right in addition to converting this bass to fretless i also wanted to have a tremolo/whammy bar bridge...went on ebay...found one for a decent price... i had to use the router again to cut into the body of the guitar so the bridge would fit. now completely out of money to spend on anything else i decided to leave the original electronics and hardware on it. i reconnected the neck and strung it up with flatwound strings (flatwound strings have no ridges that would eventually eat away at the wood of the fretboard) and im left with this (sorry they're crappy phone pics):

nice work!
BTW, if i remember right, Kahler is back in business and making tremelos again. i have two of them, and always liked them for their individual string height adjustment and easy string-changing.

What brand are the strings? I can never find a flatwound that I like.....
Almost bought myself a Hartke LH1000 today  That thing sounded amazing.
