Picture of a happy man.

Ceiling of the spray booth and a happy redneck reflected in the trunk lid.

So you don't think that this is something that it is NOT!!! This is an actual picture I took TONIGHT of Henry's TRUNK LID!! As I said before. Nothing left to do but apply the ' SUPER shine'!!

I took one pic of the trunk lid and it was all brown with wood grain. I thought the camera FUBARED, so I leaned forward and snapped the second shot!! THIS is what showed up!!!

I think that 'shine' has been accomplished!!

got to get dust on my clothes! I got to put on a resperator! I got to close my eyes and look for dents that you couldn't see, using my FINGERS!!

( The best bodywork) is done by brail.

I have rubbed almost every inch of Henry's car over and over again in the last 10 days! It will be 'massaged' several more times before the gun is loaded! I check my nephew's work, My brother checks MY work and I check HIS work. We all do our best.....( one car at a time)
Ah...the mark of a REAL bodyman! no need for fancy machines...just lots of time doing things by hand. I know exactly where your coming from, and my hat goes off to you

Looks like you layed that clear coat nice and thick...its hardly a rub and shine away from a showpiece now

Do you think that 'SHINE' might have been ACCOMPLISHED??

The first pic I took of the deck lid was brown with woodgrain. I thought that I had accidently shot the ceiling. THEN, when I leaned forward for the second shot, THIS is what showed up!!!!

I was getting the reflection, rather than the 'subject'!!!!

DAMMMNNN!! what a SHINE!!!

Bill has been doing this stuff since 1962, (46 years), I have been involved since 1969, (39 years), Billy has been involved since 1978, (30 years), I feel guilty about calling him 'Billy', but there is few things left after Jr and II had been ruled out..

Let's do the math....

For those who don't feel like clicking the picture link, here it is. Remember, this is just the final coat with nothing else done, it hasn't been wet-sanded or buffed. I like the reflection of the wood grain in the plywood panel in Jerry's ceiling.

Got SHINE???? If not, We can help......

I told Henry that he could see the 'defects' in the other cars in his SHINE
We have been playing this game for quite a while. We only do 3 or 4 cars per year with the 'intensity' that this one has recieved. There has been a LOT of hours devoted to this car. There is about 50 hours that will be applied to it before the phone call goes out to 'retrieve' the specimin!!

Rather Henry knows it or not, his car has landed in one of the top 10 'Street Rod' shops on the East Coast!! Pieces of my 47 Dodge were used to make the molds for the BEST fiberglass available in the WORLD for our trucks!

When Billy, from ZZ Top decided to hook up with 'Vintage Air', to build a 53 Studebaker that would do 200 MPH at Bonniville, with the AC ON, My fingerprints were on the pieces that made up the body.

( see the 'drag car fer sail'post) This was the second car pulled fro,m the mold.

Bob asked me " what are you doing??" I told him that, "When this car does what it is intended to do, that MY fingerprints WILL be on it!!".
My brother's fingerprints were sanded off, so the mold for the fiberglass was perfect! YES, My Brother, Bill did ALL the bodywork on the 'PLUG' that the mold was made from!

It did 208 MPH, ( with the a/c ON) OK, there was a lot of fiberglass involved, but they drove the car in, and away from 'Speed Week'.

When ZZ Top decided to stretch a 48 Pontiac into a limo, we had already stretched a 48 Pontiac into a sedan Delivery. Most people don't know about the ZZ 48 limo, since a dock worker in England DROPPED it while unloading it in Europe. It was trashed! We still have ours! The next time you are in Wiley's Ford, W. Va, stop by the shop and LOOK at it.

Bill's shop is only a 10 minute ride from OT's shop. It's even in the same town.

All that's left to do is paint the wiper arms, bolt the spoiler on, set the grill and apply the Mother's Carnuba wax and license plates!
Just got home at 1:30 AM. We pushed this project through in under 3 weeks! Nothing ELSE got done, but THIS one did!

Sat and Sunday was a marathon.... Started at 9 am and quit at midnight!

If it was any prettier, he would be afraid to DRIVE it!

Henry, you really need a CARPORT now! We wouldn't want all that nasty rain falling on her!

Just when I thought that I would be able to take a breath, The wife called and told me that a stack of new windows were deposited on the back porch!!

I really wanted the windows delivered, but had hoped that I would be here when they came and that they would be unloaded 150 ft up the alley!!

I spent a lot of Quality time with Henry's door jams and related parts today!

I was not ready to lug a bunch of windows when I got home!

I heard that you are coming!! I will be by OT's to 'KLINK' a drink!!!!

Due to the small 'setback', I am about 6 MONTHS behind on my life's plan.

Since I have a lot of bills to pay and a few dreams to fulfil, I will be blowing sparks or paint that weekend.

5 months on the recliner SUCKS for a guy that LIKES to WORK!!

I will be pushing to get a few cars ready for 4th of July weekend, so I will not be able to make Reading. However, We will have 2 'examples' available for inspection.

I wish to announce the COMPLETION of the project!

As of this AM, there were 68 pics on Henry's CD. I took another 15 tonight.

I want to add a few more. The BIG ASSED SMILE on Henry's FACE!!

I wanted to take her outside for a 'photo-shoot', but it was sleeting when I got off work. Maybe sat AM the Gods will shine favor on me.

As it is, I dusted her off and locked her in the spray booth for a couple more days....

Lady Di's silver will be showing up on sat to have a few 'adjustments' to the sheet metal. With all the stuff we need to do, I don't think that the black will be touched this trip.
