"Cheap SVX" Article

http://autospeed.com/cms/A_1831/article.html

Found this, tried searching to see if it were posted before but couldn't see anything. A decent write-up, but the part about "complete JDM SVX half-cuts for $4500." made me cringe. I don't even wanna know how many SVXi were cut up like that.

Eh, most models came with a 6disc changer. Plus, did they make a model with no airbags? I thought that drivers was standard 92-93, and 94-95 L models, and others with the driver and passenger airbags.

Mine doesn't have an airbag.....

They were available in other contries with no airbag, and radio controls on the steering wheel....

The Obvious

Obviously not pertaining to USDM versions. Interesting, though.

At the end of the web page, out of range of the average attention span, you will find a link that is real interesting about getting our automatic transmissions made more dependable Yes, there is a Bloke in the USA that "fixed" an automatic Subaru trannie that is on a dragster instead of a manual tranny
Excerpts from "All Kneel!") gets to this link http://autospeed.com/A_1801/cms/article.html
Obviously, an 850-odd horsepower engine is a major part of the car's 9-second performance but the driveline can also make or (literally) break it.
Obviously the tranny can as well!

Excerpts from the article:

Con's experience in top-level competition drag racing came to the fore when he made the unusual move to an automatic transmission. Con tracked down a bloke in the US who had experience building bulletproof Subaru trannies
With only a limited number of passes under its belt, it's fair to say the car has the potential for better than its current best of 9.4 seconds at 147.6 mph.

Now, That is interesting.
Keith

After mid-year '94 every USDM SVX has driver & passenger front airbags.

This picture doesn't look like my rear suspension

Adjustable lateral links, different subframe, different swaybar...The only way I was sure it's an SVX is the exhaust.

Is this an AWS model?
