Brakes are dragging after 5 speed swap.

It seems that all four of my brakes are dragging. I just did a 5 speed swap. I have bleed the brakes two times. Would pretension on the brake booster cause this or something else?

It would appear to me, that you have correctly diagnosed the problem by suspecting lack of overtravel/clearance, within some part of the mechanical system, which would be what has been altered. There are many other possibilities but none more likely. Trust your own judgement.

I checked the linkage today and it seems to be ok. There does not seem to be any pretension on the booster.

I took my car in to today for an emissions test. The test place could not get any readings off the exhaust. I would think that means their tester is not working. They told me to take it to a Subaru dealer.

How would I know if I did? The ABS light is not on.

No, not yet. I am broke right now and I was waiting to get emission out of the way. Its going back on the jack stainds next week. Hopefully I'll have time to take it apart soon. Or I'll have to wait until schools done next month.

Woohoo about the brake fix. I know you had another brake issue and can't remember if swapping the booster was what fixed it for you.

Well it seemed to. I don't really know yet. I have not driven the car much. I am still working on finishing the repairs to my impreza. I think its going to be like 3 weeks before I get to work on my svx, but I hope I get to it sooner. I really want to drive it, with all 5 gears working.
