Remember my blue "police chase" SVX. I need help with its replacement. Why me?...argh

Hello there,
Getting back to everyone. I was the guy that had the blue SVX stolen and driven all over the east side of Seattle and thoroughly thrashed. As A result, someone called me and told me about their SVX. They wanted to sell it but wanted to be sure it was to someone who loved SVXs Anyway, after trying ot find another Laguna Blue one, without success - at least that I could afford, I finallly purchased this 97 bordeaux
and beige SVX with only 32K miles. I have really enjoyed it.
It is a beautiful car. Maybe I should say "was" as
of Saturday. I was driving back from Whistler, Canada and
was about 6 or 7 minutes from the border, going back
south to Seattle. The weather was terrible - high 50 mph winds
and rain and so forth. The radio said there was
power out all over and to remember if the intersection
lights were out, that it automatically became a 4 way
stop. Okay, I was fine when I saw my first lights out
at a major intersection at the base of the last hill before the border of the US.
I stopped, then went on. I proceeded up the hill on
the 5 lane highway 15. It flattened out and there
were only a few smaller side roads that intersected.
Unfortunately, due to the conditions, I was very
focused on the road and went right through one of
these interesctions without even seeing the lights above
that were out. I saw a car coming into the highway from
my right and wondered, geez, what is he doing? Well,
he hit me right on, smashed the passenger side from
the door back. No one was hurt, thank God, but my
poor car. It was my fault since I didn't see the lights
out. I am just sick.
I then had it towed all the way down to Seattle. It
is sitting at Cook's Automotive at 85th and Lake City,
where my son works as the low man on the totem pole. I
called my insurance...oh geez, I am sure they will be
happy now - having in the last 3 years covered two of my cars being stolen
- with the notariety of the blue one and now this. I
am not sure what is going to happen now. I will
certainly need some new parts. I definitely want it
restored back to the previous condition, but my son said that everyone in the shop saysd it will be "totalled". If you have
any experience at this or ideas or know anyone, please feel free to
share. It is such a beautiful car. I was so happy to
drive it. I just can't believe it. The lights at the
intersection turned back on only 15 minutes later. If
I had just come through 15 minutes later it would all
be fine. My wife and I were just talking a few
minutes before about what a delightful car it was, and so safe on the road. I was
looking forward to having all of the northwest group see it. I was hoping for another
meeting soon to show it off...argh. Oh well...
Also, my phone number at home is 425 822 4737 and
cellular 206 3533900, if you have any thoughts.
As I said, I am just sick. I will wait to see what insurance says, as I paid around $9500 only two months ago. I really want to get it fixed. It is such a beautiful car. - Paul Malm

Gosh Paul, what a horrible streak of bad luck for you.

I hope you can get the '97 fixed or at least replaced again.

Maybe Earl will have pity and part with one of his if you need to replace it.

Paul,
I don't know what to tell you man. Good thing is that you have insurance covered at that time. Hopefully the frame is okay and you will be able to get it fixed back to the pristine condition. 97 is really rare and that's a beautiful color...

Sorry to hear that Paul... But pls do not get me wrong, but doesn't seem to you that you have a bad luck with SVX's?? So far a laguna blue 95 and a low mileage 97 have been wrecked... both are rare cars...

Think I found the parts and close to Seattle

I believe I have found my parts so I will be able to get this beautiful 97 back on the road. I needed a right door, right rear quarter panel and right rear suspension assembly. I think I have located them all within a few hours drive. I just hope everything else is okay. My son, who works at an autoshop said, "hope that the floorboard is not buckled, as that can present real problems." I am praying such. Actually, found out through this process, that the woman who sold it to me, was either ignorant or lying, about a previous accident, as there was filler in the passenger side door already. Anyway, I hope to get the word from insurance today. I told the adjuster that I wanted to do all I could to get it back on the road, so if he could allow for used body parts etc, I'd sure appreciate it. We shall see. - Adios for now - Paul
