speaking of swapping engines, anybody here heard of a Monster Miata. Our sys admin at work did the conversion and its awesome.

Miata + 5.0 (mustang v8) = Monster Miata

Yeah, they actually cram a v8 into a miata without much modification. Theres a guy out there who sells a kit to do this.

sorry to change topics

I can't either, and I think my friend is *gay* for suggesting it! j/k

But you can go racing in SCCA spec miata for around 2-3 grand (including cost of the car) which is hard to beat.

I'll see what happens. I'm frustrated with my search but hopeful. If I can't find an SVX, I'll find something else that'll keep my hands full at the track in '06.

Never heard of it, and I'm not sure how the miata would handle the twisties afterwards...

This is some of the stuff I'm running into:

On autotrader:

This first joker wants $5,500.00 for a 132K '92 with a gray exterior! I just got an e-mail from him and he claims the spoiler is stock!

You can also see that the paint job was done pretty cheaply as the border of the engine bay wasn't painted revealing the original claret color!

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...en&cardist=453

This other car, has 144K miles and a clean interior. However, a deer ran into the driver's side door a few weeks ago which isn't listed in the ad. Price $4,290 OBO!

Depends on what the right price is...

How many miles currently, color, upgrades, etc. Also, you're in IL/IN/MI and that's a ways to go in the winter.

Okay, I just took a quick glance at your locker:

Your '95 is a teal and not a polo green. Not a fan of teal, but out of curiosity how many miles are on it?

-Chike

P.S. I took a deeper look at your locker and the color code on your car is 517 which is polo green. Why does it look so dark then?

Dark day. The true beauty of the Polo only comes out in sunlight. It has a bit of a pearlescent effect to it. IIRC the car has under 130k, I think closer to 125. I have been in Europe for the last few months, so I don't really remember. I will be home before xmas.

You would probably be too picky anyway. The car isn't perfect. But you can ask a few who have seen it if you like. drivemusicnow, svx10, kayvon, tadow.

This other sports car probably won't be a Subaru, but most likely a 300ZX TT (previously owned one for over 1 yr) or 3000GT VR-4 (over the years I've come close to buying 4 different ones).
You won't be autoxing a 300 or a 3000GT very sucessfully. I've never lost to one in the XT let alone an SVX!!!

I sent you a PM. 125K is more than I'd like but you do have a stebro, konis, wrx radio and a bunch of other stuff. Hmmm... I'll have to think about this one. Possibility but distance will be the big issue in the Winter.

Yeah, but both of those cars are quite reliable and I'm very familiar with each one (it's not like I'm shooting in the dark here). An SVX also suffers from the same problem they do - weight. I'm not surprised your XT does so well.

I'm also thinking about a used '02 bugeye WRX which I can keep relatively stock (b/c of the weak trans) and just compete with it in D-stock - this way I'll stay in the subaru family.
