Exclamation Need All Speakers!

Does anyone know where to buy replacement speakers? I need all six the 2 tweeters, 2 front door, and 2 rear. I cant find anywhere that has them. Can the subaru dealer get them or do you have to go somewhere special? Thanks ~Dennis

I have all 6 speakers, all in pretty good condition. I removed the 6.5"s from their brackets, but did not end up using the brackets, not sure if they can be reattached. The 6x9s are perfect. Can't seem to find the tweeters right now, but pretty sure I still have them. You can have em all for $20 + shipping if you want them.

How about going to a store and just getting some. I got my polk audio speakers at a discounted price due to the fact the new models came out.

if you're going to the trouble of removing your speakers, don't throw some crappy stock paper cone ones back in - even some budget aftermarket speakers are going to be better than what came in the car originally.

The only downside to paper speakers is their limited power handling. Their upside is that they're very light and reproduce quite well when not driven hard. If you're only going to be using a deck [any deck] to drive them, the stock speakers might actually do you pretty well - especially if BurgundyBeast sells them to you for $20 - a bargain in my book.

Aftermarket speakers will actually deaden some of the sounds when driven off a deck, which may be good or bad depending on the music you like. If you're currently using, or are planning on adding an amplifier, Landshark's suggestion may be worth hearing out. Once you start upping the watts, paper cones will evince their weaknesses in short order. The budget aftermarket ones really are a big step from stock if you're planning on pushing things a bit.

The only exception to this is if you like cranking things way up to the ear-bleeding threshold, but are only using the internal deck amplifier. At those volumes with only deck power, upgraded speakers will still sound lousy, but not as lousy as the factory speakers. ...still, comparing things in terms of relative badness isn't the right foot to be stepping off on. If you keep the volume down, paper cones are not bad at all.

(I'll admit that I don't tend to keep the volume down.)

20 for them all is a very great deal though.

there is another downside........the fact that they are made of paper! for your livingroom - great, but in an automobile, they are subject to extreme temperature ranges and moisture.

UberRoo is right - i am still using the stock speakers, with a powered sub, and they sound great - better than any factory stereo i've ever heard. however, when the time comes that they need replaced for whatever reason, i'm going aftermarket.

Use a big flat head screwdriver to pop them out, can't really mess it up. They might be hard to get back in though, I needed to coerce mine with a mallet.
