Unidentified ground wires - need help!

I replaced the transmission and got everything back together and now have two ground wires without a home.

One is attached to the firewall where the top motor mount attaches. It is about 5 inches long and has a female end that needs a home. I can't find any wire to plug it into.

Also, when I was under the car working the transmission into place a ground wire came tumbling down from the top of the motor on the driver's side. It is about the same as the first one. Maybe 5-6 inches long, one end has a large round terminal to hook to a bolt for ground and the other has a female end to plug into something.

I can't find or remember any wires at the back of motor for these to grounds.

Anyone have some suggestions?
Thanks

Re: Unidentified ground wires - need help!

IT sounds like you have not grounded the motor/tranny to the fire wall, the wire hooked to the firewall should plug into the one that fell from the driver side, the end with the hole should be grounded at the started bolt, the the two are conncted together, but you stated that the 2 ends are both female.........hummmmm. Mine has that ground, but right now I'm not remembering the connection desciption, someone else will know, good luck........G

Re: Unidentified ground wires - need help!

gbianchi,
You are corrrect. I was wrong on the wire terminals. One is male, other female.
Thanks for the reply.
I was working to get the tranny separated from the motor when I unplugged the wires and didn't pay much attention to them. I remember disconnecting the wire attached to the firewall, but that was about it. It seems an unusal way to hookup that groundwire. They could have made it one wire and just have you unbolt the end from the transmission mount.
