= 10W60 is bad. 10 does not become 0 and 60 does not become 30. The oil has a SAE rating of 10 when cold, and 60 when at operating temps(hot). The ratings take into account temperature. That is one of the reasons they give a rating instead of direct centistokes. It is a range! Your oil does not turn into a 0W30 when it gets warm.

I didn't think it got that cold in Lebanon during the winter unless you are up in the mountains. You shouldn't need to change to a thinner starting weight oil unless the temperatures are VERY low.

yeah.. the only "change" that happens is between the two numbers that are on the bottle. 0w50 goes from a 0 weight cold, to a 50 weight hot... thats it.. no other random numbers...

the 0 is accounted for, but as a temperature in summer, we are like miami or south california (or Texas if you want), which is the better oil weight? I don't wanna change the oil weight either in summer or winter...
