Finally arrived...and I'm very happy

Well, after much time spent anxiously watching the TNT Vehicle Logistics Track'n'Trace website, a shiny maroon SVX arrived in my driveway today.

For those not up on the story, it's a 95 model that I got from the Pickles Damaged Vehicles auction. I bought this from Adelaide, site unseen, which is a leap of faith, and I've been a bit nervous wondering what the extent of the damage is.

However, the damage doesn't appear* to be as bad as I thought. The short version is I'll need the following parts to make it road worthy.

1 RHF Strut, complete with strut top
2 rear lateral links
1 Front outer CV Boot.
Wheels and tyres

The long version is it's obviously driven over something nasty and that was sufficient to write the car off on economic grounds.

If I can lay my hands on these bits, I should be able to get it registered ASAP and get out and drive the thing!

*Ready to be corrected after a better inspection.

I should add...the above was a loaded post.

If you have any of the following, I'd be interested to hear from you.

1 RHF strut with strut top
2xRear Lateral links

2 Wheels and tyres - or 4 wheels and tyres.

PM please.

Thanks,
Matt

Finally arrived!

Looks good Matt, the rear damage does not look too bad. How much damage is there on the front suspension?

Harvey.

Harvey,

Front "appears" limited to a bent strut and a destroyed strut top. Control arm looks OK...

I've let my fingers do the walking today and I'm hoping I can secure some of the bits...might even take it for a drive by this weekend?

This is a picture of the strut top. You can see that the paint around the top has lifted, so it's taken a fair old whack.

That strut top looks like it has been pulled down, rather than pushed up. As long as the mount points are ok, it should be an easy fix.

Harvey.

wow looks a lot better than i expected too

1 RHF Strut, complete with strut top
2 rear lateral links
1 Front outer CV Boot.
Wheels and tyres

Which two wheels do you need, RH F or R, LH F or R ???
I sent an email away for your strut and links

As for the cv boot i had Subaru replace mine, i just gave them the drive shaft and had both boots done for around $200

both boots are $46.95 genuine, add the clamps and hub nut and labour = $200

Here's the latest...with the Skyine wheels and all repairs done.

And yes, I should take the auction stickers and writing off the glass and mirror...just don't have anything immediately to hand to do that.

I reckon the wheels come up alright frankly!

All registered...got some new QLD plates and took her for a blat...to the petrol station!

Need's an alignment as I didn't put it back right so I can almost hear my new tyres scrubbing.

Also needs a manual gearbox!!! Auto shifts are a bit funky...when it feels ready rather than when I think it should go...might need a service/fluid change or something.

And some manuals...eh JDW?

Matt

more svx dreaming

The new svx looks tops. now about me...in the land of svx taragos and no real svxs or any other hot cars to perve on. All the cars are civics, beaten up corolla taxis, ford explorers, mercs or bmws. have not seen anything different or fun (don't get me started on jeepneys and other sub standard transportation... i suppose jeeps, trikes, push bikes with side cards, horse drawn veichles and caribu drawn carts are kind of interesting)

had another dream about svx this morning. i did a u turn and was confused about which side of the road to drive on. very exciting dream, was heaven to be back behind the wheel!

long long long time until i see a real one again

or drive awww

mosh

Matt sound great that you got it past rego the real pleasure of this car is when its fitted with a manual gear box. I have ment to ask is the car idleing correctly or is like ever other SVX and idleing high.
