This is why I can't have nice things.

Story:

70 year old lady tries to make a left turn from the right hand lane of a 2 lane roundabout.

Hottest day of the year so far after yesterday, had to wait for the cop for 4 hours in relatively blistering heat.

Welp, I guess now I get a new bumper and fender.

Yesterday I spent 2.5 hours hand washing the car. :/
The alternator and some wires got wet. Some of my idiot lights came on and won't go off. I think the fans are not working because my temp gauge was getting pretty high at the long red lights.

Sorry dude, I hope you had a lot of stone chips. Good luck with the paint match. In a pinch a baseball bat should be used to roll a fender lip. SVX blinkers don't cut the mustard!

The whole front of the car is pretty much covered in scars.

Is that your turn signal, stuck in her fender?

Yep...

I let her keep it as a noisy, jagged reminder of her error.

Re: This is why I can't have nice things.

How hot is blistering heat up there? Accuweather says it'll reach 60... maybe that's blistering to you folk!

Sorry to see that happen. I don't know why some people think they can make illegal turns and be ok. My camaro got totalled when I t-boned a lady that made a left hand turn at a stop light that had SEVERAL no left turn signs

Sixty! Whoa, break out the sunblock and shades gawdam.

Actually the heat was only blistering because I had to sit on or around my dark leather interior with no A/C to the tune of 4 hours, and was kinda pissed off.

Seriously these cars are rolling greenhouses.

Ah well that'll do it, I know it can only be maybe 45 out here but when I jump in after it being in the sun all day it's pretty warm inside that car.

Re: This is why I can't have nice things.

Sorry to see the carnage like that.
But, on a lesser note, it came out pretty light compared to some.

Good luck with the fixes.

Re: This is why I can't have nice things.

Bummer dude... the title of your thread really explains your experience with the SVX.

The funny part of it is your turn signal sticking in her bumper. if it was the rear one, then it would be stuck in her as... lol.

What will happen next with the insurance? Will you get refunded and fixed?

Paperwork is already done, just waiting on parts now. It's going to cost State Farm a few hairs over 2k, and me nothing.

Another funny thing, the last time I got hit and repaired, apparently they forgot to pinstripe the rear panels. It was penciled in and paid for, they just didn't do it. I never even knew.

Now as they paint and stripe the new fender they will stripe the rear as well, so aside from the dimpled and scarred doors and hood everything will be matching and looking good.

So today I'm taking the usual route to work, I get to the roundabout, and I'm in the same lane as always, and there is a silver BMW X5 in the right lane just slightly ahead of me.

I know what I'm doing. I don't trust anyone anymore. Am I being too cautious? No. I called it. This retard pulls a fricking left turn onto the highway from the right-hand lane.
Luckily I was expecting it this time and avoided the moron, got some practice pressing the horn buttons, and flipped him/her off for good measure in case they were using their mirror.
