New SVX owner

Hey everybody! New guy here! Just picked up a 92 Pearl White SVX about 2 weeks ago. Did the front brakes, high pressure power steering line, and I'll be picking it up from the shop next week after the inner tie rods are done. The front seats are a little rough, the gas gauge doesn't work, but other than a few rock chips, the car is great for being 17-18 years old.

Planning on putting it on daily driver duty, and parking my Camaro. It's a 2000 5 speed v6, with way to much money put into it. It has run a 14.6 @ 93 in the 1/4, with a totally stock motor. I was pretty proud cutting a 2.02 60' on street tires...

Anyways, Glad to be a part of the community!

-Mike

Re: New SVX owner

Welcome!
First rule of thumb for all newcomers is to post pictures of their car.
Second rule is never post saying you did something to your car without posting pics
If you dont post pics, you will get TTIWWOP.
(This Thread Is Worthless With Out Pics)

We are all post *****s here

Oh, going from a Camaro to a SVX is a huge leap.
Well, not to much. Alot of SVXi have been know to be money pits

Next thing you need to do is list your information about your SVX in the Registration Forum so I can get your info on the list. If you have questions, let me know.

Welcome to the site.

Re: New SVX owner

I am going to try and make every meet that I can! Just need to get the SVX road worthy first

Heard back from the shop today, and I am hearing that the rack and pinion is bad on it. They pulled the boots, and fluid just came pouring out. I can't call BS on the shop either... The owner has known my family for over 35 years lol. If the rack really is bad, I'm just going to order a long rack assy and replace it myself. I can do a rack and pinion as long as the inner tie rods come on it. I can smell the irony now!!! Also, I will get pics when I get down there next weekend. In the meantime, anyone know a good site for some deals on a rack and pinion (long rack) setup?

-Mike

Get the steering rack rebuilt, much cheaper and as good as new.
