stomped by NASA!

major hauling ass last night.

kk so i was burning off tranny fluid at the strip, smokin weasels til i saw this mustang pull up to an ugly SUV. the lane was open so what the heck i pulled up too.
i read the back: NASA
i read the side: AWD 3.8L Supercharged
i looked for the make: a lions head with a crown?
o_0'''

the hell is this thing? ok lets see how badly i lose to this guy.
vroom they take off, and i look like a jackass with no rear window.

some idiots in a yellow neon make fun of me so i stalk them. i also stalk some truck with a guy with a microphone. "That must of hurt" he says.

pulled into miccy D's and switched to fwd. found that suv bout 20 mins later. people pointed at me as i pulled up to mr. nasa.

(note: i can only run 14s in FWD)

man that thing is a monster. we hit the green at about the same time and he pulled about 30ft ahead when i matched acceleration.

i figure in a 1/4 mile i wouldve been .6 sec slower than that beast.

(note my cams are still not aligned my throttlebody opens halfway and my filter is dirty as hell)

anybody have any idea what that thing was? i wish i had a camera but i didnt.

Well I know one thing

Lion's head with a crown is Saab. As far as the model goes I'm stumped...maybe somebody just put Saab logos on something else cause no Saab has a 3.8l engine.

No offense, man, but you need to go find yourself a Camaro or something. The SVX was not meant to be a drag racer. It was simply never meant to race from stoplight to stoplight. And that's fine, because it was made to something much more difficult and fun.

Your 'cams are not aligned' and your 'throttle body only opens halfway?'

And you claim that you can run 14s and were 'smokin' weasles?'

Look, no offense (again), but please cut the crap. If your timing was really off I imagine that the car is barely running and you're probably hurting it. If your throttle body only opens halfway, then that would mean that the TPS isn't seeing WOT, and I can't imagine that you'd break 30sec in the quarter, much less your claimed 14.

Either way, we've got tons of knowledge and experience on this site and we can help you with SVX mechanical problems.

AND it sounds to me like you're 'racing' at stoplights. Please stop that. Take it to a track where everybody involved knows what they're getting into. This kind of 'racing'* tends to involve innocent people.

* It's hardly racing at all. As a matter of fact, it's only one component of what makes up real racing. So you can stomp on the gas and make your car go in a straight line. Congratu-freaking-lations.

Okay, seriously, I'm not taking shots at you, personally. I just can't stand the 'street racing' crowd.

THANK YOU EVERYONE. I've been waiting for a while for someone to say that.

NIKU, I think you're full of crap. First off, you claim you run 14s. BULL****. Phil has a 5spd conversion, nitrous, and he isn't even in the 13s yet. You think that somehow your stock SVX with a bad throttlebody and misaligned cams is running 14s? You're full of crap. Please sell the SVX to someone who won't beat the crap out of it, and purchase a civic or something.
