German shifter assembly compatability theory?
the european SVX have the power switch on the shifter. This isnt terribly useful most of the time, as most of them are UK, and RHD, and we couldnt put it in our cars. I have a german shift assembly on the way, and they of course are LHD... So....whats the wiring like for these shifters? Is it going to be as simple as splicing in a new pair of wires (for the power switch), or am I biting off more then I can chew. (theoretical of course)

It may be a little more complicated than that. I am not sure of the wiring circuit. It would be interesting to see if the German wiring diagram was similar to our power mod. Maybe those members, living in states where the MANUAL button is not needed, could use that button for POWER Then there is the rewire of the MANUAL button to deal with... and if you want to maually control your power antenna... .

I was theorizing (and hoping a more savvy svx tech could confirm/deny), that the switches simply are on off 2 wire things. if its just a loom of wires for these switchs, and not any sort of circuit board, I would think I could splice into them and make them control what ever I wanted. redirect the 2 wires for the manual button from the shifter (on US) to the assembly box (German). Then add 2 wires for the power switch on the shifter (german).
Im not sure how I could wire in the antenna switch... But I would think that would be pretty simple. My question is basicly, underneith this box, am I looking at a loom, or am I looking at a circuit board. It just depends on how complicated the wiring is I guess.... and I would THINK it was simple...
