drivers seatbelt wont go back.
the little wrench in my console is missing, so I took an allen wrench and put it in there, and put enough force on it to actually bend it...and the auto seatbelt is stuck halfway down the track.(I got it this way). I dont really mind not having the seatbelt work, though it would be nice...the light on the dash is driving me crazy...Could some one tell me how to force this seatbelt back into the locked position? and if it is back there, will the STUPID light go off even though its jammed and wont go back and forth?

Mine won't go back either. I have cranked it back, but it just goes forward again and then won't go back again. The light will keep flashing until it is fixed. I am trying to find out what switch is the problem. Good luck on yours. If I find out anything, I will post.

If you replace the seatbelt assy it should fix the problem. I dont know about your car, but Subarus 1995 and newer have a lifetime warranty on anything seatbelt related. You might want to check into that.

Earl,
I'm having exactly the same problem. Have you or anyone else found a solution? I have the side rear left panel off that covers the motor right now and I can't see anything obvious. I've driven too far already without anything infront of my chest. Electrical problems drive me crazy!

Someone posted that they checked the plug and found that it had worked loose a little. When they took it off and then back on, it worked again. It has the locking tabs on the plug, but it still can work loose. I have not had a chance to check mine yet, but will post when I have the time to do it. Good luck.

Yeah, the plug mentioned in that thread are the same ones mentioned in this thread: http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...threadid=12066
My last post there explains what I did to reach the conclusion that I have to replace my front limit switch. Does anyone know how to do this?
