Subafreak !

THanks for the input... I guess my real question now is : "Is it really all worth converting my '92 SVX with 160K miles to a 5 speed?" ... Or... I could keep it for a while until I repay my damn student loans and buy a new WRX and put the SVX for a downpayment.... What is your oppinion? I've spent $3200 on the cart total so far. I could expand another $1500 towards a 5-speed and that wouldn't cover the professional install, of course
Tell me, you are the senior member

Thanks ! Nick

i have 170k and just converted to a 5spd. I also just purchased a nitrous kit. These engines are not bulletproof, but if you maintain them will last longer then you would ever imagine. The only thing i get out of my car is satisfaction, if your worried about the money youve got the wrong habbit! Just kidding around

I think a modded SVX is cooler than a WRX any day of the week. I see WRXs all the time. I almost never see SVXs.

Why not, They had one that said ( So fast it will crush your scull) or something like that. I agree with Rob, you see alot of WRX's, but If your gona get rid of your SVX for one you better get an STI.
The 5 speed is not indestructable either as a few SVXrs have proved and many WRXrs have found out, the 6 speed is where it's at but it's not really in a pactical price range right now for a $4,000 car. The five speed does take away from the smoothness of the SVX but makes it much more of a drivers car. It's really up to you, for me it was the cheaper route to getting mine back on the road at the time and I love being able to shift it myself now.
