Again going to something that is illegal for a race car to put in and run effectively huh since real prepared (not the rice prepared that you seem to prefer) doesn't let ya mess with the ECU.

Ah but it needs to work with the stock ECU without any modifications.

Ben,
If you do a search on ECU in the 2005 Rules Book, the only place it shows up in is the Street Mod section where it notes that you can run a reprogrammed chip as long as it's in the stock ECU housing...
The fact that it doesn't show up in the Street Prepared or Prepared sections leads me to believe that SCCA doesn't have a specific position...Have you found specific language that says you can't touch the ECU in SP or P??
-Bill
p.s. sorry that the RaceCar isn't going to make it...won't be the same without you three there

Yes it states that the ECU cannot be altered unless the change can also be done on all mechanically run vehicles...

Ben,
Okay, so my point would be that the 2v5 chip is essentially doing the same thing I'd do by changing the jets in a Holley 4 barrel carb - i.e. just changing the AFR across the rpm range.
-Bill
p.s. you have the XT running yet?

Ah but there are cars you can't do that with out there. Word on the street is it won't hold up nationally if your a winner which is fine if you're not planning to do that.

Yep the XT is running SOOO SMOOTH (even without being timed). Doesn't seem to be leaking at all. Time for another 200k on her. I think she's strong enough now she could give a run for the money on a stock SVX.

Now it is RABBIT TIME!!! Hope to have it done by Reading next year (or at least the body done)

Congrats on getting the XT running!
Since the RaceCar isn't going to show at Capitol, do you just want me to take the 4th Hoosier up to Tom's?

Good idea -- make sure to get the local temp/humidity/elevation so Chike can "adjust" everyone's times to the NHRA standards.

I have no desire to race but will pass it along the the Crest and Melis.

Yes Bill if you are making a trip up that way prior to Dave going down for the parts car please take it up. If not we'll just send ya some money to ship her. One shouldn't be as bad as 4.
