Power light "was" Flashing
The power light was flashing 18 times. I searched and could not find an answer I understood. I played with the resistor behind the battery and it did not happen when I started it again.
The tranny itself feels a little funny. It kind of lightly shudders(barely noticeable) from a stop. The shift from 1-2 kind of thuds. At highway speeds in D is fine but when I shift into 3 on the fly I get no engine braking. Please tell me it is not too bad....(holding my breath) Larry |

It could be a couple of things. One of them being a loose sol. A resistor. There is a way to look up that code. Do a search and it will show up.

Self diagnostic steps below
"Blinking Power Light" Self Diagnosis
The 16 blinks just means that there is a code being stored. You'll have to run the self diagnosis to actually see what that code us. The "Power" light indicates transmission codes. Long blinks are counted as 10's and short blinks are counted as 1's. In other words, two long and two short blinks is a code 22. One long and one short is code 11. The following self diagnosis will show any fault codes for the transmission. To perform the self diagnosis test for EXISTING problems: 1) Warm up engine by driving at speeds greater than 12mph. 2) Stop vehicle and turn ignition switch OFF. 3) Turn ignition switch ON and make sure POWER indicator lamp comes on. 4) Turn ignition switch OFF. 5) Move selector lever to D and turn manual switch ON. 6) Turn ignition switch ON. 7) Move selector lever to "3" and turn manual switch OFF. 8) Move selector level to "2" and turn manual switch ON. 9) Move selector lever to "1" and turn manual switch OFF. 10) Partially depress accelerator pedal (to turn idle switch off). 11) Check code as displayed on POWER light. Blinking once every 1/4sec is normal. To perform the self diag test for PREVIOUS problems: 1) Warm up engine by driving at speeds greater than 12mph. 2) Stop vehicle and turn ignition switch OFF. 3) Turn ignition switch ON and make sure POWER indicator lamp comes on. 4) Turn ignition switch OFF. 5) Move selector lever to "1" and turn manual switch ON. 6) Turn ignition switch ON. 7) Move selector lever to "2" and turn manual switch OFF. 8) Move selector lever to "3" and turn manual switch ON. 9) Move selector lever to "D" and trun manual switch OFF. 10) Partially depress accelerator pedal (to turn idle switch off). 11) Check code as displayed on POWER light. Blinking once every 1/4sec is normal. TROUBLE CODES: 11 Duty solenoid A 12 Duty solenoid B 13 Shift solenoid 3 14 Shift solenoid 2 15 Shift solenoid 1 21 ATF temp sensor 22 Atmospheric sensor 23 Engine revolution signal 24 Duty solenoid C 25 Engine torque control signal 31 Throttle sensor 32 Vehicle speed sensor 1 33 Vehicle speed sensor 2

Is the "Power" light supposed to come on at all if there isn't a problem. My friend had an AWD LSI and whenever he would get on it, the power light would come on. On my car the power light doesn't come on, even when my b/f really gets on it.

If you keep slamming on your gas, your car will slowly adapt to your habit thus, no more power light when you slam on the gas

Power light
Your power light should come on at the very least when you get in an start up the car. It should come on and stay on for 5 seconds or so while it checks the tranny for codes. If it doesn't you got a burned out bulb or worse yet someone before might have unhooked it b/c of a problem.

I didn't warm the car up by driving it but i did a previous Code Retrieval. It came up as one long blink and one short blink. An 11. Duty Solenoid A. Is that bad or is not warming the car up by driving it the problem. Like I said I played with the resistor behind the battery and the light did not come on at startup. Was that the problem I hope. Thanks

Solenoid "A" regulates line pressure. This is consistant with your symptoms. See this thread......
