O/T Legacy brake pads
I stupidly took off the pads from both left and right sides and did not note the correct location of the pads with the wear indicators. Do they go on the inside or outside of the rotor? I seem to remember all my previous cars using the inside location but I could use a confirmation. Thanks in advance.

Called Flemington Subaru and they confirmed that the pads with the wear indicators go on the inside of the rotor, with the indicators on the bottom. Just an FYI.

Thanks - I have a Legacy, so that's helpful.

Okay thanks. I have a 91 Legacy also.
Usually the wear indicator is on the same side as the pistons in the caliper. I believe the thinking was that the piston would wear more. I have been watching the SVX shoes and this isn't true. The ones on the outside are wearing faster. |

My indicator pads were also unevenly worn, with the "indicator" end showing less wear than the other end. Any idea what would cause this?
