heat shields Question
has any one tried too put dynomat on there heat shields to reduse the noise or rattle that they make?

I wouldn't, just because the smell would be appalling after a short while.

dynomat would be a terrible idea, its not meant to handle the heat, heat wrapping would be a much better idea.

Am I the only one who thinks that Subaru engineers put them there for a purpose? I just tweeked the shields and checked the connectors. Rust wasn't an issue. If you take them off, buy a fire extinguisher.

Yea! If you drive a lot off road and through dry leaves or park on dry grass... I took mine off in 2000 and never had a problem.

I am thinking of putting exhaust wrap on pipes then the heat shields.
I am getting a lot of tinning of the shield when my car cools down. only on one side I think of have a bad pre-cat. |
