project fix up pearly!

So heres a little background information on my little project I have going on right now. I was online one day and came across a wrecked 92 ebony pearl LSL svx on a auction website and I decided to start bidding. I was wining with 700 dollars till the last day then some lawyer from Minneapolis decided he wanted the car so he out bid me and had a hefty bid of 1000 dollars. I was disappointed seeing as I didn't want to spend over a 1000 on a wrecked svx that needs a ton of work. But I couldn't help my self and won it for 1200 which is pretty spendy but in MN,ND these cars sell for way more then they are worth. So here is a little bit of my progress and I will continue to update with photos and post along the way! Let me know if you have questions or just let me know what you think.
The day I picked it up at auction!

This next couple pictures are of the car untouched with the body damage

Now it was time to pull the damage so I welded on some pull tabs on either side of the kink on the bottom of the quarter panel.

Now its time to pull so I used my buddys truck (my trucks in the background hehe) and hooked up a come-a-long to the pull tab on the quarter and them to the hitch on the truck.

I then slowly pulled out the damage hammering the highs and the seams of the panel to relieve the stress on the panel. this is where I got.

Re: project fix up pearly!

I then taped off on the body line and made my cut to get rid of the damaged stretched metal.

Piece cut out

Then I tacked in the new metal all the way around and seam sealed and undercoated it on the inside.

Then grinded away paint for the filler to adhere to.

Lay a coat of fiberglass filler. And dont have pics but the had about 2 more coats of lightweight filler(most get sanded off) and a top coat of poly. Honestly the filler is within warranty spec as if a real body shop did it.

Then it was primer time
used nason 2k primer best primer IMO for the money!

more updates soon

Nice, looking good! Is the car mechanically sound?

Any other damage at all?

Awesome work! It's great to see someone putting in the effort to get the car back into shape and keeping it on the road.

Re: project fix up pearly!

Well im glad I could be fixing up one of these cars again! About the car It runs perfect and trans shifts good. Motor is quiet no knockin or valve tick. The interior is kinda ratty but i already bought seats off my buddie for it and the struts are blown and ****ty! and vavle covers are leaking.. like I said needs alot of work but i told myself ii need to save this one from the salvage yard! And about the color, it is basically a base-coat of black with a red pearl in it. As far as the body goes it has like 3 spots of rust which are easliy fixably as of right now but the car needs a complete job witch it will get hopefully next summer when it isnt so cold but if i have some time i will do it all this winter! I should be painting Pearly tomorrow it was kinda cold today so I didn't want to chance running it. Pics should be up tonight or tommorow the 20th!

Nice job man!
One Q though, why didn't you cut and weld and OEM quarter piece instead?

@ 92 SVX, I like your rims

I recommend the silver color, it is always better for the rims.
