Transmission resistor part number

Anyone know the part number for a 94 transmission resistor. Had 16 blinking power code. Did the DIY replacement with a resistor I ordered. Blinking light only comes on intermittantly now, but shifting very hard between 1st and 2nd. Not enough plug left to redo. Subaru dealer here doesn't know what part I am talking about.

Re: Transmission resistor part number

In searching through the forums for the part number, came across the brake band adjustment how to. Seems like this might be my problem as the tranny light has only come on once since I replaced the resistor 2 months ago. The hard shifting started immediately after the swap?

Re: Transmission resistor part number

Before you replace the resistor check that it is has a resistance of between nine and fifteen ohms, i.e. as per factory specifications. The usual is about twelve ohms. Also check that the wiring and connectors are sound.

If all is OK you will have to assume that your problem is due to some other fault. In this respect it would be worthwhile to check the resistor which you have already replaced. If it is also OK, you will have absolutely established that the problem is elsewhere.
