So...from experience, whats the BEST visor fix?
My visor has been missing on my car since I got it. I just got a visor out of a junk yard for $10. It has just started to droop though. I'd say it holds steady around 1.5 inchs from the ceiling.
I have found quite a few solutions using search, 1 at least has some one saying it didnt work for them... I really wanted that nice snap back new visor feel. I am not willing to go with a hack fix. I want something that doesnt look (to the naked eye) like a 'fix'. Is it possible to get this with a fix? Or do I need to suck it up and go buy a new one.

Re: So...from experience, whats the BEST visor fix?
You know, thats not a bad idea. I wonder if we can simply change out the internal plastics for that of another visor. I have seen some of the sew/glue jobs, and they look kind of hackish.. but something tells me I could do better anyway

Re: So...from experience, whats the BEST visor fix?
Velcro and superglue. It may not be beautiful, but it works.

Re: So...from experience, whats the BEST visor fix?
Velcro and super glue does NOT work. And for a million reasons.
A: It obviously doesnt look normal. Its like supergluing a fan to your dashboard if your blower motor stops working. That doesnt 'work' either. B: Its not a fix, its a crutch. 1 step better then bungie chords. C: It pulls down your headliner and trust me, thats not cool. You do not want to play that game. Thats the beginning of the million reasons. Plz plz plz plz plz, don't spread the rumor that it 'works' Nate: Doing research on that showed the only other person to attempt that fix said it didnt work for them. I also wonder how long it would take for the plastic to wear out inside that sleeve. Obviously nothing lasts for ever, but even if it only lasts a year or two....not what im looking for. I would of been happy to try it, but I dont have confidence that it works (seeing as the definition of 'works' is apparently questionable) I think the replaced mechanism might just do the trick. I'm going to have to troll the junkyards James

Re: So...from experience, whats the BEST visor fix?
Well, I tried the "fix" in the How-To documents, and aside from making a big mess of the inside of my visor it did absolutely nothing, and took me quite a while to cover up and make it look nice again. So until something better comes up I'd rather use my method as opposed to not doing anything or removing the visor completely. I understand your warnings about the headliner, and trust me I watch it very closely to make sure its not pulling down. Once it starts to, then I'll research some other options.

Re: So...from experience, whats the BEST visor fix?
Got a wife who can sew? I fixed up the visor's on my boyfriend's old beater car by just going to the fabric store. I bought some headliner material (thin fabric with foam built in) and just recovered them. It is a bit tricky and a little time consuming but MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper than buying a new one.
I made a quick template, stitched all but one side, slid the visor in and hand stitched the last side. It wasn't perfect but it did come out pretty clean. Obviously if you do have mirrors or lights you will need to pull them off and then put them back on once you get the new cover on but the visors I did were plain. The fabric was no more than $10/yard which would allow you to do 2-3 cars.
