That's why I can't get mad about it. I know it's mostly my fault.

Yes you can be mad!

No one has the right to take your stuff.
Probably someone that moved up from Washington state or Oregon! We live in the two west coast states that have always taken pride in being ungodly.

It was probably someone that lives in or visits my neighborhood frequently.

The angle of my house and the road is such that the wheels could only be spotted from one direction, and from a part of the neighborhood that is mostly cut off from pretty much anything. There is also a grade school about 2 lots away. There is heavy traffic in front of my house twice a day, but there is also usually one of two vehicles parked in the lot, somewhat obscuring the view.
The wheels would be invisible at night.

I'm left with 4 possibilities.
A gradeschooler parent who doesn't live here saw them, came in the night.
Someone from around the block took them.
One of the two neighbors whom's backyard is aligned with my driveway.
One of my direct neighbors or their aquaintances.

Something else that's intersting to note, the neighbor who's garage is directly across from mine has TWO sets of wheels/tires just sitting out, 4 of them in bright yellow bags, but they were not touched.

You left out one possibility, they could have been taken by kids, and I mean teenagers of course.

I still think they were taken for the tires. Or else by a fool. SVX wheels don't actually fit too many vehicles. The person taking them may not know that until they have them away safe and get to evaluate what they have taken.

You should post a reward, $100, no questions asked, you need the wheels.

That's what I would do. Otherwise you may never see them again. If nobody "finds" your wheels, then you don't have to pay the money. What have you got to lose?

I actually already considered that. I would rather "reward" someone for "finding" both or even just the tires or just the wheels than have to buy a completely new set.

There aren't any teenagers in this 'hood, far as I know. Maybe one or two. Plenty of kids though. LOTS of kids. I don't think any of them are strong enough to even lift one rim let alone four wheels.
One thing is for sure, this is one of the more shady 'hoods that I've lived in. Lots of people with yards full of broken vehicles and junk, you know like white trash "everything lives in the garage but our 3 Frankencars" kind of place. Only a few of the houses are like that but, damn.

So go ahead and do it.

Whoever stole them may be thinking they are useless and looking for a place to dump.

Make it easy to have the wheels "found" anonymously, and you may have a chance.

It will be cheaper than replacing them.

You probably should have included the term "No questions asked"

You don't have to lick their butts, they are thieving scum, but you do have to assure them you are not trying to trap them if it is to have a chance of success.

I would put that as well. Just in case... It could make the difference of getting them back, or not getting them back. I hope you do though...

That's the funny thing about wheels. They roll.

However, that does suck. I hope you get them back. Unfortunately not much of a chance of recovery, from my experience at least. Posting rewards offered means the person would have to admit to you what they did, and chances are they could flip them for more than the reward offered. Plus there's the whole effort thing, they're probably to lazy to go back, with the chance of no reward at all. Plus, if it's set back, that's pretty rough to move 4 wheels like that. If they were after market, i could see, maybe, but who steals a set of stockers?

To ad insult to injury it has been snowing for about 3-4 days, and the city is white and cold once again. If I were driving my car right now, I would not be able to get ANYWHERE.

Not to change the subject but, Do people really get paid just to live in Alaska? I heard you get like a 1,000 dollars a year or something like that just for being a resident there becuase the weather is so intolerable. That true?
