hmmmm.. would u consider a hot/cold startup when u have to pump the gas really really fast and quick while u crank the ignition key over until it starts? usually cold/ hot startups.. once it warms up a bit it runs fine...

Huh...Good info.
My alternator was shot, but is replaced, and the car is still stalling when warm. No starting problems at all though... Anyone have pics or a DIY on the coolant temp sensor replacement? I'm going to have to dig more into this. Thanks!

Get the sensor from any auto parts house for <$20. You'll need a 22mm deep-well socket (this size also fits the wheel lug nuts). Five minute procedure. I had more trouble getting the wires loose than removing the sensor. Note that my car had no drivability/stalling problems. dcb |

Shoot, then that's what you need for the coolant temp sensor, 19mm. My bad; sorry about that.

If you still have the original stock tool kit, there is a nice deep 19mm socket in there

Does anyone have a pic, diagram or anything of where the sensors are located and how to get at them? Also, part numbers for ordering would be handy. THANKS!

I haven't had a chance to look further into it yet...Been working 12hr shifts on 3rds, lol!
I'm off now until Monday, so I'll try to get to it this weekend. If anyone has a pic or diagram of where these are, part numbers for them, or a DIY/FAQ on the repair, I'd be very indebted. Thanks!

I've attached 3 pics to help you find the sensor. The brass colored sensor in the third pic is the one i changed out to fix my hot stalling issues.
Regarding the part numbers you can search through the website below (click on the blue SVX link at the top of the page , you will have to create an account and login) http://www.subaruparts.com/ |

O'Reilly can't find a listing for the one that goes to the ECU, and the dealer can't even find a listing for the car.
I've got them digging through old books and they're supposed to call me back. Part numbers would be a HUGE help. Thanks!
