Possible Dyno Meet outside of Philly

Mikecg and I are in need of hitting the dyno with our cars... May just want to make a meet out of this to save money and to see some people we haven't seen in a while. I need an exact amount of cars that will be there for sure so I can get a price... Let me know if u want in... The date right now is for Thurs Nov 16th.

Tom

P.S. here is the link for the shop...AWD Dyno

YAY for numbers!

There is a 90% chance I can't make it down there for that, but it would be cool to see the stage 3 get it's numbers.
I'm also curious to see what my SVX makes... hmm, do I need a break??

It would be a great chance to meet some of the Jersey crew too!

Here is another one. Xotic has a dynjet, which is usually off and this one has a Mustang Dyno, which are known to be very accurate

My vote is for Xotic, as it's around 50 miles closer to me Using the DynoJet will also build on the current DynoJet-based SVX database!

Tom, I'd recommend 4 pulls at least for your car and mine. I'll have 3 sets of software with me. 2 of them I want to make sure we both try out. I figure 2 pulls per version for a total of 4. If your not doing anything to the car there really isnt any need for more then 3 pulls for a car. If you want to try the software your currently running, you may want an extra pull or two for your car.

Now I need to figure ot what the deal is with my car. I think I may have a vacuum issue. I'm still getting the check engine light, and my boost gauge is reading low. Either I have a boost leak, or more likely I have T'd off the vacuum line on the manifold too many times. The gauge is barely getting above 5lbs. I'm also using a rubber vacuum hose on the gauge which can cause a slight discrepance in the reading.

Mike,
Given how the ECU is mounted under the dash and how it "learns", I'm not sure if this approach is going to work (i.e., you probably won't have enough time). Factor in the time it takes to get the cars ready for runs and two hours will go by real fast!
Might be a good idea to just have you run one software version and Tom run another and then just compare hp/tq curves - given that Tom's higher level of boost should just move the curves up (everything else being equal)
Just my 2 cents....

Mike, I would recomend you use a dab of RTV on all of you vaccum lines to be sure they are leak free.

Bill, I think changing an ECU is cake and if we just leave them dangle while the pull is in progress we should be fine. I wanna see if we can round up some ECU's and maybe Lan can send us a couple extra boards so we can just swap seperate ECUs and not just the software

After demo'ing all the software I have recently. I can switch out the software in about 2 minutes. Especially if we take the exspansion board from the car that isnt on the dyno and have it ready with the second set of software. Right now I have 2 nuts holding by ECU in and the cover is still removed. I figure when we have a final software figured out I'll close it up.

well before we get the cars up, we can just take the ECU down and take the cover off... This way we can just chnage out the chips... That was LAN's suggestion

You guys can always pull the ECU out of the Pearl that I'll be driving so you can have 2 standbys.

PM or call Kevin Thomas (Myxalplyx). He might be up for re-dynoing my former SVX or one of his XT6's...
