If you can afford it, a lot of guys swear by the Optima. It's a Gel battery. Get the Red top for everyday applications, the Yellow top if you're running heavy stereo equipment. If that's out of your price range, Advance Auto is selling an Optima clone made by Interstate, it's less expensive with the same technology. I've had good luck with the standard Interstate so that could be your third choice. Most people I've known have not had good luck with the Die Hard, just in case you were considering it. Other opinions, may differ.

Oh, yeah, I have a die hard in the cav. Great battery. The car sits for months at a time without being run, and will just start right up when you decide to run it.

A fan of Die Hard Gold batteries
Quote:
When my original factory battery died shortly before x-mas I had no idea just how bad it was until I replaced it with a Die Hard Gold battery that cost under $100.00. Imho it is a far superior battery compared to the original factory battery. It's CCA is much higher than stock and its reserve is also better. Even if it was to go bad the thing has a warrenty that will outlast the car Chris, There is no one perfect battery for the SVX. What battery is best for your SVX is determined by several factors. One more thing...........
If your gonna replace your battery you might as well upgrade your battery cables also if you have not done so already. Consider it protecting your investment The upgrade doesn't cost that much extra.

My Die Hard Gold gave up (poof - no warning) after only two years. Up until that time it was terrific. I've heard since that they tend to do that. I picked up Auto Zone's best battery. It was the only place open on a Sunday evening.

Go to search, type in keyword "alternator" and username "svxcess". Click on the thread Alternator wiring update: TEST RESULTS. Go to the post "wiring mod answers". It will give you detailed instructions. There are also photos of the mod in my personal locker and the How-to locker
