Airport races in September to benefit terminally ill children

airport races

I try to go to as many as possible .. its pretty cool they set up a "christmas tree" and they limit to the # of people who can race

its usually a pretty big turn out and they serve food and sell t-shirts

I know its a ways off but just an idea ... its to benefit terminally ill children so its a great cause and something fun to do

* Vehicles must be street legal, registered and insured.
That rules Benehoc out, but seems like a great thing for the rest (and I like the fact it's for a good cause)
Spectators isn't much...maybe I'll go.

Throw some plates on and you're good to go ... I have seen cars with parachutes race over there I know for a fact were not street legal... I guess youd have to see how it goes

I'll definetly be there probably not racing though maybe we can get a bunch of the SVX's in the car show ? That would be awesome

I get the feeling they will ask for proof of insurance and registration

FYI putting plates on the wrong vehicle is a big deal in PA now. Something like up to 6 months in jail, mandatory 60 days w/o driving, huge fine.

That said, I know I can get her inspected.

Too expensive to transport the racer there without racing. Why don't ya come down to Cumberland at the end of July (see Cumberland Pixs)

Cumberland, WV Airport autoxing and car show. Its the 30st and 31st. I know that there should be a decent turn out there and it isn't too far away!

FUN IN THE SUN!

The only thing you need to run cumberland is tight wheel bearings, no corded tires, no leaks, all caps on gas, oil, radiator, throttle return spring and 20 mph 'hands off' brake test. run what you brung, they will figure out what class you're in when they see it.
No tags or insurance, NO PROBLEM, I don't think Md's Finest want a tagged RAYNARD on the street anyway!
Just for general referance, The car that finished 4th overall on sat in may was a street driven IMPREZA on Hoosiers he hauled in the back seat! The car is street driven daily and he drove it in from gettysburg PA.
He drives it WELL!

I believe you have to register ahead of time as they try to keep the # of people who race to a certain amount

Lancaster is about 2 hours from ES and Cumberland, MD is about another 2-3 hours west of there.
