Thanks for the offer, Tom! Matt is shipping me his extra sensor to me tomorrow. Once I get it I will install it. Should I run it for a few days once installed before adjusting for correct voltage or should I install it and adjust the voltage right away? I won't be able to make it to Hagerstown because I am having a party that day. Sounds like a great time though. Hopefully I can make one of the race days.

If anyone has a TPS left over after CigarJohnny claims his please let me know as I am having the same problem. I paid beans svx for the parts over 2 months ago and as with other members on the site I have not rec'd the parts and am unable to contact beans svx, and really pissed about it. I would really like to fix the problem but am a bit tight on $$ so looking for a good price on a used TPS.

Tom, can it take a while for the idle to settle after adjusting the voltage? Perhaps I should have let it run for a couple days after adjusting it before giving up on it. What do you think?

Hey Johnny. Just after i finished resealing my 1st motor i had a problem with high idle also. Check to make sure the throttle lines are not twisted and make sure they are not too tight on top of it. there should be some slack in the cables at the throttle body when throttle is at idle possition. Hope this helps. BTW I have a few extra IAC's and tps sensors around here somewhere, let me know if u need 1

Tom

From my experience I've found that it takes 3 full run cycles for the ECU to re-learn the correct idle.

When I adjusted mine my idle was high also. I was doing some stereo work at the time so my batt was disconnected. After hooking the battery back up the idle was normal.

Nice. I will readjust it this weekend and see what happens with it. By "full run cycles" you mean starting it, running it for a while, then turning it off, no? I thought it may be somehting that I would see an instant result on. When I get my new TPS from Matt I will do it all over again and see what happens.

Disconnecting the battery for a few hours should clear the memory in the ECU and allow it to forget it's old training. Makes sense. I may just do this method as well. It's running like crap the way it is now. This sunday I should find time to do it.

PS: See you on Saturday, bud! Be ready for a fraggin' good time!
