What cured it was to make sure the connector going into the alternator is fully seated. You really gotta push on it hard to seat it properly. Give it a try...
Just had this problem today with the exact five warning lights coming on. I wiggled and made sure the wires were plugged firmly to the alternator and the warning lights went away. (engine off of course)

Next for me is the Alternator mod.

the meet monster rears its ugly head

The wife's svx must think it's coming to the meet - just had the same problem as described above.
Had the battery load tested - it is fine
no check engine light
no abs code - the led is not on at all
power light shows 10 short blinks - not a code listed for this and it makes no sense as the codes go.

abs, steering, brake, stop lamp, battery lights come on along with a rough running/ rough idle. Does it in the driveway in park too. When lights go out car operates normally. It is intermittent. It did not do it while driving at normal speeds for me but Kim says it did on her way to work while driving.

Tried the battery connector touching thing with no luck
Alternator plug is fine - unplugged, no corrosion, plugged back in - still does it.
Snipped the visor wires just to be safe but still no luck

I guess it's time for a new alternator

Matt <----- wishing he hadn't brought his used alternator to Lafayette and sold it for a song to that nice young couple

Anyone have a used alternator for sale?
Mike?

Power shows 10 blinks --

Is that after you pulled the code or when it start up?

I know you probably know but you have to pull the code first.

That is pulling the code - tried pulling it both ways - for present and past codes. It does not blink on startup.

Strange thing is I swapped alternators and both cars are operating fine so far.

Could it be my optima red top battery is hardier or maybe the alternator wiring upgrade on my car or possibly there was a loose connection and removal/ installation corrected it.

Yes, old thread indeed. I love the search function and reposting to an old thread prevents rehashing all the past replies.

I had exactly the same problem - all the warning lights lit up at just over idle. Diagnosed by Subaru as a bad alternator - no problems since it was replaced.

Weird. I drove my car all week with her alternator and had no problem. I swapped them back tonight so I'd have a piece of mind with my good one for the long trip to reading. She got the warning lights on the way to drop her car off at the dealership for a wheel bearing.

Only difference is the alternator wiring mod and the red top battery.

any ideas?

My car was doing the multiple warning light thing like your's is, and I must agree with some of the other members,,I would suspect the alternator or in my case, the regulator, mine was putting out almost 17 volts at one point, and before I fixed it, I managed to blow out both my low beam headlights. I suppose it could be something else but I was instructed on here to test it with a volt/ohm meter to see what the voltage was and I found it to be way too high..... Although it might be something else but I would check the alternator soon to prevent more problems.

So far I've had 3 problems with my alternator. The first time it was the voltage regulator, the second time I just had the alternator rebuilt (or replaced with a rebuilt one) and just recently another voltage regulator.
