I managed to get some background on the car from the previous owner's wife. The guy bought it new from Emich Subaru at age 75 and drove it for three years as his golf-mobile (he lived at 49'ers). Probably explains the only two foreign objects in the car, a golf tee and a shoe horn. Sadly he passed away in 1998 and the car was "mothballed" in his widows' driveway until late last year when her kids decided it was time for the assisted living home. She sold to Emich (who probaly shafted her) and they did some work to get it up for sale. Typical detail-for-resale work. Only 18,800 miles on the clock when I signed. I've found some problems since then, but nothing major.

I still wish I could have found an LSi, but having an SVX that looks good (some paint issues, a couple 'blemishes'), nearly perfect interior and smells like new is awesome.

Actually there is one other problem: I want another SVX.
Wow, thats great. Did you get them to fix any of the little
stuff before you bought it. ?
I almost bought a house in 49s Estates but it was too far east for me (you know Paul McCartney has a house in that area right ?
but a little further north closer to the foothills)
Any I was all over that area last yr, wish I would of seen it sitting in her driveway, would of been nice to buy it from her instead.
Anywho, glad you ended up with it
drop by the shop sometime or email me if you need anything or have any questions

I had them install both new visors, the window switch pod on the driver's side and I had them do a four wheel alignment. I think that was it.

Paul McCartney's place is further east, right? Pretty sure it's very near where Tanque Verde turns to dirt. That's what I heard anyway. I've also been told (by the dudes at Plaza Liquors) that Steven Spielberg has a place up in the foothills area. No idea where, but they were adament about it. Or maybe they'd been consuming some of their product.

I'll be by the shop one of these days, there's some stuff I want to get. Probably when work sends me on an errand so I'll get paid to shop for SVX parts!

Well...I just finished moving all the way across the country, so it could take a little while to get myself reset.

I have a manufacturer now, however (the place I work for, woot!!) so when I can get the mold made, they can make the parts for me.

Sorry to all who are waiting for this project to get done. Shouldn't be terribly much longer.

For network decals, PM me for the info.

Yes AT done

Chiketkd
yes AT rebuilt with AT cooler installed, bypasiing radiator completely, in the rebuild the AT guy did mods recommended for our box by Jatco..some extra holes drilled to improve fluid movement..and also some other mods to the bands etc to give crisper changes ...so all in all very good ..no fluffy gear changes all crisp clean no jolts...

Wheels..rolling diameters...thumping sensation..[cause of planetaries failing ??] ...this sensation was diagnosed by Subaru using their monitor is the car jumping in and out AWD [only under mild braking..they thought it may have been a faulty ABS sensor..but no] ...then it was suggetsted because of the rolling diamtr being different fr to back ..I've adjusted the air pressure .. with intially a 0.25in difference fr to back ..over 78ins 78 front and 78.25 back..I've got those diameters the same...now this thumping sensation is all but gone [remember was there heavily before planetaries trashed]..still there a little...I'm currently querying as to whether Solenoid "c" might be a cause of this AWD engaging/disengaging..the ATY guy said he tested all the solenoids when doing the AT, but when I have the car back to Subaru for its next service I'll get them to run their meter over it again ..now that the AT is sorted to give final answer..
