New Rotor/Brake Shudder?

I just recently installed the raceconcepts slotted rotors and pbr pads on the front. I did the preliminary wear in, 10 30 mph stops, but is there supposed to be a bit of a shudder. I notice it especially when slowing from 60, not to a stop but if i were to hit the brakes quick. Is there an avg amount of miles i should go before it feels relatively normal? Also there is a metal plate that goes on the outside pads. I did not put this back on the drivers side, could this be the problem. I intend to put it back on tonight. Thanks in advance.
Chris

I'm assuming by plate you mean one of the shims on the pad, yes? Good that you're replacing it.

as for shudder, you might take off the rotors and make sure the mating surface is free of any corrosion/general muck that could cause the rotor to not seat fully flush.

Also check the tightness of the locating pin that the caliper rotates on after you take out the bolt.

You have probly already found out that it should go away with a few more stops. It has something to do with the zinc coating.

Thumbs up

Chris - Just to let you know that the new iRotor slotted rotors & Axxis pads that you & Mike put on my car are performing well, with no shuddering or noise. Did you get your other problems straightened out?

Ron.

Take your rear rotors off and have them turned, I bet that is where your shudder is.
Only cost a few buck and I bet it fixes your problem...it did mine.
