Sing along, everybody!

Laughing head off!!

Must remember to sing that in the car, in addition to "Rock me Amadeus"

Cool I've Done a Donovan

I'm just mad about saffron
Four wheel drive Subarus
Randy hates this colour with passion
But Tone's buying one for his use

They call it Mello Yello
{Canary to youse}
They call it Mello Yello
{Not Pearlie or Puce}

James missed his chance for banana
Supersonic transport last year
Bought instead a stealth painted wagon
That's the last we've seen of him here

We call them Mello Yello
{If Randy can't hear}
We call them Mello Yello
{Club will have one this year}

With apologies to Donovan

Stealth Mello Yellow Submarine

Hi everybody.

Sorry for the silence but I am under a lot of stress (job matters) and no time for anything.

I have been around though, reading your warm and chearful singing posts regarding my adventure.
I am singing alone, believe me...

The litle time I'm having I am taking care of IT.

I don't expect to have it here before the end of next week.

Meanwhile thank you all for your reccomendations and support.
You will always be a (distant) part of this adventure.
I just hope to have the time and money to keep it and to be at some meet, hopefuly also on the other side of the Atlantic.
I will need parts to maintain the Sub and those don't seem to float around here (and I mean Europe) and therefore I will have to count on some "networkin" with you guys to keep my baby alive.

Tone,

That is great news you are getting the car. Congratulations, wish you well with it.

Don't worry too much about parts. The car was never imported to Ireland, and so far, I have no trouble getting parts.

Regardless of all you read about transmission trouble, the car is very well built, and will not need a lot of parts. Just as well, they tend not to be cheap.

The commonest things to break would be rear wheel bearings, not too expensive to fix, but must be done carefully.

If your drive involves a lot of hill climbing, or a lot of stop-start city driving, you would be well advised to put an extra oil cooler on the transmission. Again, this will not cost loads of Euro, and will be a big saver on the transmission.

Enjoy your car for a while, and don't worry about breakdowns. With a bit af advanced planning and good servicing, you won't be having any breakdowns.

Joe

Anyone want a cheap runaround? No reported faults so it could be a bargain.

Here's my attempt - goes to the tune of Vanilla Ice's song, Ice Ice Baby..

4EAT Baby
4EAT, Baby!
Yo, SVX, lets kick it,
Alright stop - collaborate and listen,
Subaru is back with a brand new invention.
Mini little windows, no one's ever see em'
3.3 howls like a demon
Will it ever stop, yo,
I don't know,
hit the throttle and 'power light' will glow.

To tha extreme its looks like a supercar,
The EB110 stole the windows I tell ya!.

Music, I got a stereo with a boom,
Pity that no-one made another loom.
CD install,
absolute nightmare,
kickin the ground, foul language in the air.
Love it or leave it you can't gain ways,
Replacing the rears will take 6 days.
If there's a problem and you can't solve it, check out
the World Network and they'll resolve it.
SVX Baby, SVX Baby...
Now that my trannie's jumpin',
my heart hits tha ground, the tranny ain't pumpin'
Quick to tha point, to tha point no fakin',
Nissan parts ain't worth takin.
Screaming bearings and an o-ring failure
sitting on the kerb waiting for a trailer.

In your souped up Honda or junk
I'm on a roll,
I always ride solo.
Rollin', in my 2 point 0,
it runs low 15's, yo, that really ain't slow.
Tha girlies on stand by,
don't even want to say "Hi".
but "What the heck was that?" as I just flew by.
Kept on, pursuing to tha next block,
I warp the rotors and ain't gonna stop.

The block was dead, yo, so I continued to A-1-A,
Detroit Avenue!
Saw Randy wearing a yellow leopard bikini,
and saw a few chumps drivin' stock Lamborghinis.
Jealous, cause I'm out drivin' mine,
ready to race 'cuz my SVX lookin' fine.
If there was a problem, yo I'll solve it,
check out my car while my AWD resolves it,
SVX Baby, SVX Baby...
Take heed, 'cause I'm a Pleisides poet,
Guigaro's on tha scene just in case ya didn't know it.
Makin fake mockup's with twin turbo stickers
Mention of that really moves our tickers

Gettin the looks cruising down the street
Climate control air con keeping out the heat
'Cause my ride's style is so reeeeeeeeeeeeal, with
an exhaust tone that ya can feeeeeeeel.
Integrated windows, it's a helluva concept,
my ride is hype, with the grunt when you punch it
WITH THIS.
In my rearview you'll fade,
slice like a Ginsu -sounds like a Kitchen-Aid.
Keep my composure when the front tire breaks loose,
magnetized by the kick of over 200 horse juice.
Goin in the bend, the front tucks it
Get your RWD and throw it in the bin
See another one and I pull to a stop
Try to get the window down, I hear a pop
Window switch, clutched in my hand
No Nissan part ain't worth a damn
Ten years on and still get the glares
Subaru supercar? Damn millionaires
Green, red, black or yella
Don't really care since I ain't gonna sell ya

SVX Baby, SVX Baby....

Great job on the song!
When will it be released on CD because I want to download the MP3!

Actually we are probably getting close to having enough songs to compile a CD with:

1. SVX Baby
2. Yellow Subaru
3. Mello Yello (Subaru)
.....

I know we have more of them!

James, please put your song on our forum.

I have come here out of frustration looking for some worthwhile depth, interest, and common sense. I think you may be doing the same. But let us keep the home fires burning as I am sure we will then also entice interesting visits.

Reading between the lines, and as a result of personal contact, I am sure that Kiwis who have posted have not continued posting after having perused the overall quality now on offer.

Up over

Trevor,

Put the kettle on!

I will be coming to visit.

Much too quiet on the Southern Front.

Hey, Joe - Two days ago I went over to Yahoo & found a Brit who's looking at an SVX & had the usual newbie questions. I sent him an e-mail which suggested he drop by the "real" SVX club & bug you "over- the-ponders". If he hasn't yet joined, perhaps you could entice him with some Irish blarney.
Ron.
