The most awesome clock in the history of clocks

I've had this planned for a while now, and then on the weekend stumbled onto the exact clock hands that I wanted...

Some time later:

My SVX is going back to bare metal soon (media blasting), so when the guys do that, I think I'll give them this manifold to also clean up. It'll look even better on my wall when it's a bit shinier.

This is great! I have a spare intake manifold laying around... may have to do this!

Nice idea! Maybe you should paint the hands a different color to give it some contrast. I don't have a spare manifold, but maybe another SVX part?

Thats one heavy clock...

Then again, any of the newer gen manifolds wouldnt look as nice.

I installed one of the smaller clock mechnisms into the stock center caps and installed it into one of my spare refinished SVX wheels.

To finish the look, I may drill 12 small holes around the edge of the rim and install polished button-head allen bolts to mark the hours.

I already have one of those disk rotor/caliper wall clocks. May see if I can disassemble it and install it behind the wheel to show through the spokes.

And, no I am not going to cut a hole in my drywall so that I can recess the whole thing. Even svxcess has to draw the line somewhere.

Re: The most awesome clock in the history of clocks

Thanks guys.

And it's surprisingly light after removing the butterfly assemblies etc.

So far I'm happy with the gloss black hands against the matt finish of the rest. But I'll make a final decision on that once it's been properly cleaned.

It also depends on whether I decide to add colour to my pearlie SVX when I respray it... the clock hangs on the wall in my man cave just near the partially dismantled SVX... a guy's gotta carefully match up his man cave decor, right?

There's a line? I'm already thinking about how I can recess my spare tail lights as feature wall lighting, possibly even as a spotlight for the clock.
