Nice that I've got 2 of their 5 favourite cars.

Re: SVX in the news

Why is a decent MX-5 listed for $55,000? I think they meant $5500.

Hel@ I think they added 2 zeros, I'd have trouble paying more than $550 for a Miata.

Well, the prices given are estimates for those cars in decent condition. But yeah, around here I can find a nice clean '89-'98 Miata with ~150k for about $2k-$3k no problem.

Re: SVX in the news

I have a NZDM MR2. Great fun. No electric windows, power steering, air con. Like a go kart. Huge contrast to an SVX. But not much fun on the open road (too noisy).

I had to look up what the Piazza was (called the Impulse here in the US). Pretty cool car, I remember now that my aunt had one, probably not the turbo.

Funny how your article also points how automobile depretiation seems to be pretty consistent from country to country. To think that a car with a 4 cyl. engine, no electric windows and produced in larger numbers is only slightly less then a fully loaded limited edition AWD grand tourer. That said I still found the prestine red 1st gen. MR2 brought to local autoshow I frequented quite a stunner. The owner even maintained a kind of Magnum P.i theme with the mustage, Hawaiian shirt and cigar.

My next door neighbor bought a 1984 silver Impulse new. Clean lines and quite striking looking with the 100% velour interior. But the car, while somewhat enjoyable to drive, was horrible in the snow. No weight in the rear, RWD and wide tires.

When he could not get out of his driveway with 3" of snow, I had to take him to work in my 82 Accord coupe.
