oil in brake fluid
Well, i went to the shop and the master cylinder had motor oil in it. Why would someone put oil in it? The shop is saying that the seals may be bad now and need all new calipers and master cylinder. They are going to drain the system and see if the brakes will work. Has anyone ever heard of anyone having done this before? Hopefully they wont be damaged.

Re: oil in brake fluid
The way a friend mechanic would do it is suck out all the crap from the master cyl., then refill with new brake fluid and flush completely through the lines.
The way the shop mechanic does it is try and make as much $$$$ for the shop as possible by always offering the customer a worst-case scenario. Tell them to flush the system and nothing else. |
