2008 Track Days Invitation

Good Day SVX Fans:

Just a quick note to invite any road course drivers out there to join MVP Track Time for track days in 2008. You can find us at www.MVPTrackTime.com. We are open to all makes of cars and convertibles that meet the rules.

Our 2008 track days (so far) are as follows:

April 21 - Putnam Park (Near Indianapolis) [Tax Freedom Track Day] – SOLD OUT!
May 9 - Summit Point (West Virginia) [Private Corporate Event]
June 2 - Autobahn Country Club (Near Joliet, IL.)
August 18 - Autobahn Country Club
September 13 & 14 - Blackhawk Farms (Near Beloit, WI) [Our 1st Weekend Event]
October 11 & 12 – BeaveRun Raceway (Near Pittsburgh) - Finalizing Details

Both Autobhan dates are once again the entire 3.56 mile road course. None of this namby-pamby 1/2 track stuff.

We will be announcing at least one more track weekend for 2008 soon. Registration with Pay Pal, credit card or via downloadable form (mail in check) is available at:

Feff,
Interesting! So, should I read you post as meaning that the Summit Point event isn't open to outside folks? Summit Point and VIR are really the only reasonable options for those of us on the East Coast (okay, so I'll throw in Lime Rock also, but Dan says it's going private soon).

p.s. read your site and everyone should understand that you require a SA2000 or better helmet, no exceptions!

Bill:

The Summit Point event (now a 2nd one in October) are for an auto dealer group tha thired me to run an event for their clients. We did open it up for general registration about one month beforehand. We will likely do the same for the October event. Keep an eye on our web site at www.MVPTracktime.com

With under four weeks until our August 18th track day at Autobahn Country Club’s (near Chicago) full 3.56 mile road course, we are well over ½ full. If you'd like to join us for the Autobahn II (August 18th) event or any remaining MVP Track Time track day in 2008, visit us at:

Re: 2008 Track Days Invitation

Bill:

There are a lot more options in the East than Summit Point and VIR. By the way, I just did a 3-day Bertil Roos Racing School at VIR South Course, (they use Formula Fords). Fantastic.

The other options are: Pocono - various configurations of the track, North Course, South Course, East Course, Single Infield Full Course, and Double Infield Full Course (the best). Of course, you can't forget Watkins Glen, a long haul, but worth every bit of it. Oldbridge Township Raceway Park, in Englishtown, NJ has just opened a 1.3 mile road course. I understand they will be open most weekends for public events, maybe $150 for a 6 hour open track. There is also NJ Motorsports Park, in Millville, NJ (south), which is opening this year, 2 courses, Thunderbolt, 2.25 mi. and Lightning, 1.9 mi. A new track, Alpine Motorsports Club in Kunkletown, PA, a few miles north of Allentown, is opening next year, with a multi-configuration 2.6 mi. course. It is a private club, but rents itself to organizatinos for track events. Lime Rock is now a private club, but they still may rent out for track days, but only for half days, morning or evening. They are repaving this summer, but we will have to see if there are any rental events next year. There is also the Monticello Motor Club, a superposh club in the Catskills with a 4.0 mi. track, ($100,000 club entry fee, 4 figure monthly dues), but NASA-NE has an DE event there later this year.

Lots of folks run track days in the northeast and middle Atlantic states, NASA-NE, NASA-MA, Trackdaze, Sports Car Driving Association, Connecticut Autocross and Rally Team, Trackmasters, Chin Motorsports, all the BMWCCA chapters, PCA Chapters, Mercedes Clubs, Ferrari clubs, Corvette Clubs, even the Corvair Club. I'm sure I have left out some. Many of these marque-exclusive clubs do allow ringers to play, if they have an opening.

If you want to play, there's lots of opportunities.

Re: 2008 Track Days Invitation

We have just a few spots in the Intermediate run group for Autobahn Country Club on August 18th. Still a fair amount for the Advanced group. Visit us at www.MVPTrackTime.com for details.

Feff

PS: Blackhawk Farms Raceway (September 13th & 14th) is filling fast as well!
