Damaged Driverside Door

What happens when a Mercedes GL320 driver doesn't actually look behind before backing up? To make a long story short, it was at a rather small gas station and I thought she was parking so I moved into the lot then paused to look for an open pump. But as it turned out she was trying to do a K turn.

An insurance adjuster is hopefully coming on Wednesday but I trust an estimate from any of you allot more. I also need to know where I can find and buy spare SVX door cladding just in case. Pardon the quality of the pics, it was from my camera phone at the scene.

Thats a relief but now I hope the shop I'm recommended to doesn't charge an arm and a leg or way above the estimate for labor. However, my friend does personally know an owner of an autobody shop who worked on his car, which was also dented on the driver's side door, who charged way below common estimate.

But then it would all depend if the insurance company would accept them or else I would then have to seek a cash settlement.

You can usually find a door for $150-$200+shipping, which might turn out to be cheaper than a body shop repair.

Make a post in the "Parts wanted" forum. There's also Ebay, but Ebay has been somewhat problematic. A group in Vineland, NJ has repeatedly scammed people here by misrepresenting their parts or not delivering.
