CV axle? what holds that thing in there
ok, so I can see my cv axle. Long stick boot on each end...... what holds it in place. It looks like its just stuck in there. I have heard that the part near the engine has a roll pin.
What part holds it to the other end just a nut or something? Do I have to take apart ball joint or anything to replace this?

At the wheel end there is a nut. On the transmission end there is a roll pin.
The nut is under a cap in the center of the brake rotor.

so is it advised to change them both. So that the stiffness will be the same or if the other boots are in tack on the other, just change the one

If the boots are good and the joint is not clicking just change the one for now.
