PCV change?
Is changing the PCV on an SVX that complicated? I heard it takes quite a bit of time/labor just to get to it. If that's true, what else is worth doing when you're in that far?

The PVC is something of a pain, but doable. Just takes time and patience. Check the "How To" personal locker for a How to.

i just did it. kind of a *****. follow the how-to. some additional comments:
- get a "telescopic magnetic-tipped tool" for retrieving the PCV valve when you drop it into the engine. i became quite skilled at retrieving it. - mine was pretty difficult to remove.('97) i don't want to know how much torque would be necessary to remove one from a '92. my Chilton's manual said to put some teflon tape on the threads, so it may be easier to remove the next time. i hope so. - you literally have to fish your arm through under the rear of the intake (try not to disturb the hoses and stuff that are under there) which will allow you to get a finger on the bottom of the new PCV valve to hold it in place while you get it started in the threads from above with the tip of a finger from your other hand. - have a beer ready for when you're finished Alan

If you happen to be as fortunate as me you'll have two pair of these floating around in your tool box - they make a five minute job of changing the valve.

For some reason, those tools scare me. They look as if they would be used by a doctor for a rather delicate piece of surgery.

Yeah, I got mine from the hospital when they sent me home from my bypass surgery. Actually I ended up with two pair as I temporarily lost the first pair. Of course the first pair shows up after paying another $50.
