O/T Legacy AC
Okay, so we spent $750 on getting the AC in my wife's Legacy repaired. New condenser, drier, adjuster pulley and the system coverted to R134a.
Now I notice a pronounced clicking noise inside the center of the dash. Sometimes it just clicks a couple of times, sometimes it clicks so much that it sounds more like a buzz. Every time I hear the click, I am almost CERTAIN that the compressor kicks either on or off. Any takers? I don't want this to wear out the clutch on the compressor or damage any of the new parts.

Have you tried turning the setting to max cool? This should leave the ac running. You might want to look under the hood and see the Kompresor kicking on and off. No bubbles in the drier window? System may not be full.

As for the drier, I will look at it tonight.

With R134 there will be no bubbles visible in the drier.
Subaru retrofit procedure calls for painting the glass with a black paint (to eliminate possible confusion). |
