Non-SVX water pump (maybe) issue
Our other car, a 94 Olds 88 with the 3800 V-6 is making a good deal of noise lately. Using the highly scientific tube stethoscope method, I believe the culprit is the water pump. I'm not sure if water pumps make that kind of noise though...? Sounds like a bad bearing of some sort. The pump does not appear to leak at all.
Any wisdom? Beav? Anyone? Also, how much cussing in involved in replacement if it is required?

Yup, they have a bearing and it can make quite a racket without leaking. It's actually one of the easier pumps to replace (for me anyway ), you shouldn't have too much trouble. Just take it easy on the little bolts so you don't break them.
