oil leaking again......

after getting my camshaft and crankshaft seals replaced......i noticed the other day that i still have oil leaking. what the hell!!!???

another trip to the stupid mechanic.......arrgggghhhh........

1994 SVX, true dual Magnaflow exhaust, K&N filter, 17" Enkei RS6 wheels, Bridgestone Potenza RE730 225/45/17 rubber, zinc plated cross-drilled rotors with yellow painted brake calipers. B&M tranny cooler rated at 19,000 GVW. GC springs and Koni strut inserts installed and the car is lowered two inches all the way around!!

do you know what it is that is leaking? On mine, differnetial leaked till they replaced the diff. seal.

One thing to do is to slip a piece of light cardboard under the car tonight, where the leak usually shows up (if you have to park outside, make sure to weight it down to avoid the wind blowing it away). Tomorrow morning, pull it out. Look at color, then, give the spot a "sniff." Motor oil, tranny fluid and gear grease have their distinctive "bouquets." That way you can, at least, narrow down what to look for. Tranny fluid could be your rack or a PS hose, or, a tranny cooler hose or tranny pan, etc. Motor oil could be an oil pan leak since you've had most of your seals replaced. Of course gear grease would lead you toward a diff seal leak. Just a suggestion.

thanks randy.....

i am pretty sure it is motor oil. hopefully something simple. i will take it in this coming week and get it fixed. i need to get my left cv axle rebuilt and some new brake pads too. ahhh......the svx experience, always challenging.
