At least you got in and out before they changed their minds!

So, did you transport the 6MT in your ebony SVX? Didn't know the trunk could hold a load of that size...

Before we left I took my spare 5mt ans fitted it in the trunk... I basically wanted to make sure the bell housing would fit... It did so I knew the 6mt would fit well... We only had to fold down the one seat for the driveshaft that I got also

Pretty cool. I guess the SVX's trunk is bigger than I give it credit for...

Tonight I am going to rip the auto out... Rip the rear out and take out the axles as well...Anyone need this stuff?? I started a for sale thread but they will go up on ebay if no one claims them soon... I also plan on getting my pedals welded together(they are just placed together as of now)... Tomorrow maybe start to figure out how the hell you are supposed to setup the clutch fork w/ the throwout bearing... I also ordered a stainless clutch line since the one on the trans was cut and I didn't get one with the master cylinder. I still need to order another set of STi motor mounts and a new 6mt Group N tranny mount.... After that... I think thats it... I am gonna plug some #'s in here and give people a general Idea of what this conversion is costing me

1. Transmission/rear/clutch/flywheel/starter/AXLE STUBS /axles/shifter linkage/crossmember/driveshaft- $3300

2. Momo Steering wheel- $262.50

3. Momo Shift knob and boot- $110.00

4. Pedal assembly and clutch master cylinder- $90

5. Group N mounts- $150

6. Stainless Clutch line- $40

$3952.50 for a grand total as of now. I may buy the Kartboy short shifter but that is another 150 I am not sure I want to spend as of right now...Maybe later I will

Tom

Wow! You'll easily top $4,000 by the time all is said and done... Not a bad price for a manual trans that can withstand almost anything the EG33 (or EG33TT ) throws at it!!!

For comparison, for ~$700 I'll be rocking a new low mileage 4.44 4EAT for '06 (if I did the swap at Svxfiles' place).

Good point. I forgot that all that stuff needs to be done on the Silver...

If you do get the Kartboy short shifter and a few other goodies, you may 'scrape' $5,000 by the very end!

You'll have one amazing silver SVX though.

yeah well if I dump 5k into it before it hits the road I would gross over 7k into the car and I have only owned it a little over a month... It should be well worth the effort though...I think I am gonna wait until spring time to worry about snatching up another set of Koni/gc... At this time I will prob buy another set of ver1 RX-7 wheels to stuff some 245 hoosiers on for track days while keeping my Pirellis on the current set of wheels

Another set of RX-7 rims for track days would be sweet.

I'm thinking about getting a set of 17x8" Rotas (either the Torque or Boost models) off of Ebay in '06. They just look hot from every angle!!!

Amazingly the tranny fit in the trunk easy, though we were doin the squat pretty good. I personally rode the in the back seat the WHOLE way up and 90% of the way back. Im still recovering.

Oh well, I have a tranny to drop.Thatll cost you about $30 (or 36$) an hour.

-Eric

P.S.- im STILL laughing at that picture.

Ok... Made some progress tonight...

Removed the auto
removed rear diff and stock rear axles
Prepped the R180 with the R160 flange and elongated studs(Measure with Micrometer and it is the same size)
Fixed the one rear axle that they gave me(all messed up inside)

Tomorrow:
Finish up the pedals
Mount the R180 and Sti axles
Mount Flywheel and clutch(if my rear seal gets here)
Replace axle seals in the transmission(guy messed them up)

I do not see myself getting the trans in until Sun if I am lucky... I am still waiting on some parts. Thanks John/Mike/Eric for giving me a hand tonight I really appreciate it...And Mike, I have ur money for the light

Tom
