An autocross event or drag racing is always cool!
A trip to The Attic at Cherry Hill would be a big draw for me.

I think also some kind of organized lunch on Saturday would be great, maybe next year we could cruise to a state park again but stay to use the picnic area. Everything is better with full stomach.

I am currently in negotiations with Nick Saraceni, new curator of the vehicles in Subaru's Vintage Garage and he handles all of the museum vehicles in Cherry Hill. Trying to get a private tour of this warehouse. He is familiar with those who helped get the PPG Pace car to Reading. They have tentative plans to open this museum to the public sometime in the future, but nothing definite yet. It would have been nice to add this for Reading XV, but logistically it proved too difficult.

There seems very little enthusiasm or interest here in making this happen. More negative vibes and complaints. Having Subaru bring the cars to us at Reading was a no-brainer; this endeavor is just as complicated and required effort and planning on our part.

That being said all progress on this has been abandoned for the forseeable future.



There are non-negotiable restrictions

The main one being they will not open it for a tour on the weekend[/B]. It would have to be during the week. Something legal or insurance-related about having non-Subaru personnel on site outside of normal operating hours. No exceptions.

Another major one is absolutely NO photography. That means even smart phones are not permitted. Check phones and cameras at the door and claim them at the end. They are adamant about this

They were a bit hesitant about setting a precedent for other groups who want to do the same thing about touring the facility. They are aware that they broke precedent for us once before on exhibiting the Pace Car at a private function for the first time in history.

Yeah, it's hell. But if everyone has GPS, it would work depending if it's able to plan out. No point in trying to all stick together as that will just lead to problems.
I think to draw people from further away to come, extending the weekend to include full day Friday as has been done some years will be a help. Along with obviously having plans for both Friday and Saturday things to do. Last year was nice with the Autox on Sunday but that won't happen again since the mall has apparently been sold.

I enjoyed the Meet, and thought the Drive was a good length, after driving 11 hours to get there, and 11 hours to get home, I don't generally care to do a long drive while I'm there.....but might make an exception for the Warehouse

I liked the "Car Show" and as always, loved checking out everyone's cars, and meeting all the owners.

Going up to Willingboro, NJ this weekend to get cheese steaks at GAETANOS. This is about 15 miles north of Cherry Hill.

I get to avoid Philly (and their cheese steaks) but this could be a great place for lunch (where the micro cheese steak is 8", the small is 12" and the large is 17")

I actually make that drive a lot, so for me it is not a big deal but I can pretty much guarantee that you can add a half hour to the Mapquest trip times for each direction in normal traffic. An more if there is construction or heavy traffic.

That being said I still think it is a good idea because that place would be worth it.

I used to drive from PA to NJ every day for work. It can be done if one is selective about day and time. Weekday afternoons are best if you're dead set on going through the city; I routinely cruised right through going east at 1-2pm on weekdays. So if you can set up a tour for an afternoon time it might work.

I'd strongly consider heading back home on the PA Turnpike. 295 North to Exit 52, a short bit on surface roads, then bada-bing it's a straight shot back to Morgantown. Heck, you could even go that way for the easterly run.

There is also the Simeone Museum. It's open weekends.
