You should have a starter/alternator rebuild shop somewhere close. Ask around or check a phone book. Going price in the US for rebuilding an alternator for 100-150ish.

Re: alternator broke down!!

.

Your cheapest and most reliable alternator with high-end German regulators can be found HERE. You can't do better than this.

Contact Christian at christian@maniacelectricmotors.com

Your final price is only $89.00 US (EUR 67.74), after you return your old core for a $60.00 credit. With the money you save, you can afford expedited shipping to the Netherlands.

For comparison, Autopartswarehouse choices can be found HERE

Subaruparts.com can be found HERE

Good luck

Still cheaper and much quicker to get done locally. John, have you ever tried to ship something that large across the pond it isn't cheap enough to save yourself $30 compared to likely local costs. Then there is the off chance that he gets one which fails. Be smart, buy local.

Oh and so now you're touting it as the most reliable. Give me a fing break.

Hi

The shops can rebuilt, but do not have the required regulator
That's why I am asking you in the US

Thanks

Have you tried another shop? It is just a standard Mitsu alternator. Very common here, I would suspect it would cross over to something sold over there as well.

I stand by that statement. Maniac Electric offers free ground shipping and pre-pays to have your old core returned. If there ever is a warranty issue, they pay for the alternator to be returned to them and pay for it to be sent back to you.

Add into the formula their extremely reasonable pricing. They can't afford to have reliability problems that eat into their profits. Every alternator that leaves their shop is thoroughly rebuilt, inspected and tested by people who know what they are doing.

Re: alternator broke down!!

I just shipped an 8 lb. package Priority Mail to Holland for US$68.00. United Parcel Service wanted US$167.00. Local would be better if possible.

And I paid under $80 8 years ago to have mine rebuilt locally picked up the next day with a lifetime warranty and doubling the diode set and a complete winding. You are simply happy with a business you deal with, doesn't mean they are any better then any place else. You lying about it being the "best" quality is a joke John.

I would go with svxcess and would not consider any other alternative. You can trust those people... they know what they are doing. If anything goes wrong, they will take care of you! A rare thing in today's world.

Yeah, I like having my warranty from a company 10k miles away too so my car can sit in the garage for 4 weeks while I wait for a new part. Glad to see you back Keith. Good Xmas?

4 weeks could certainly be a bummer! We manage our lives a little differently than that by keeping a spare on hand. Haven't had to use it yet, but you never know when you will get Christmas lights before an actual Christmas. We like the heavy duty ones from the Maniac folks. Might be a good suggestion for yourself.

Thanks for the thoughtful inquire about our Christmas! It was just great and hope yours was as well.

Take care,
Keith

No I prefer my local shop which pays a living wage, uses top quality Japanese parts (not German Junk) and rebuilds it to last with a local, see the shop owner behind the counter warranty. I drive my cars on a regular basis so to me usability is the key to owning a car. Otherwise it is a very heavy paperweight. That's why I bought more reliable British stuff compared to the SVX. Parts are much more readily available. Took 2 hours to get my alternator rebuilt for the XJR.

My Xmas Sucked, had to work the day after so all the idiot drivers could get home from Grandma's bar and grille. through the snow but it is the thought that counts.

Sorry... Lots of danger on the roads nowadays. Much worse specifically at this time of the year.

Christian at Maniac Motors said the small flat rate box will ship for $15.00 and the regulator is $28.75. She could send just the regulator if you need it.

The shipping is $75.00 for the complete alternator. She can only pay the return shipping on US Orders.
