Car Alignment

Is there any reason that I'd have to take my car to the Dealer for an alignment? My car needs one and I wanted to just take it to Sears since it's only $75. Before I do that, I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something stupid.

alignment...

Naw, don't take it to a dealer...

Your SVX rquires a 4 wheel alignment. 75 to 80 bucks is the going rate here in Co. Any competent shop with a good alignment rack can do the job.

I don't know about Sears....

If youre going to spend $75-80, then pay $20 more at a Firestone Maintenace Center if you have them in your area... $100 will get you a lifetime allignment for the life of that car, not sure on the particulars if you sell the car. I do know that it is honored nationwide though.

Whenever you feel you need an allignment(a legit reason is needed) just go int, they allign it, check and add fluids etc... you say thanks and walk out the door... gotta love it!!

Significant Technical Input
$75-$80 for alignment? Hmmmm......I need to raise the prices here.... we're still at $55.

Lidetime anything comes with caveats - if anyone there determines that you need parts, you have the option to have them replaced there (at their price) or forfeit the remainder of your warranty. That's how it usually works, anyway....

How do you know your car needs an alignment...?

life time dealie

I've always wondered about these life time alignments.

How many times can you align you car? How often?
Is it set by mileage, (every 10,000 miles) or by time(once a year)
or what?

Can I take in any time? IIN a perfect world, I'd take my car in for alignment after every autocross or track event.(once a month?)

I will try to find my paperwork and answer these for you, but even if it is anually, its not long before you start saving...

I am sure its not annually, as I had mine done 2 times within 3 months...
